must clean often and it's a nasty job

It cleans well. However i have dog that sheds. It picks up the hair, but dust bin and brushes have to be cleaned after every other time I use it or every time. It is a job because the hair raps around the brushes. I'ts not easy to get off and the dirt is very fine. This was supposed to be the pet series. I much rather use and empty a regular vacuum with a bag. I no longer use it. I wish someone had emphasized this in a comment before I spent all that money for it. I'm going to try and sell it in a yard sale for 1/5 of what I paid for it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

3 years old now and needs more service than its working
Pros: Cleans good when working, Excellent novelty, Old dog gets exercise
Cons: Expensive 15 mo battery, Gets stuck under couches, Whiskers wear out quick

use my roomba everyday have pets and she keeps the house clean. Gets hair under the plate and have to clean it out often. But it is worth it not to have to drag out the big vacuum all the time.
Pros: Easy To Empty, Easy To Use, Efficient, Lightweight

2nd Cleaning Module in Just Over 1 Year

Love the ability to schedule the iRobot and forget it. Keeps up with the daily crumbs and pet hair. Disappointed in the cleaning module (cleaning head). This is the 2nd cleaning module for our Bot in 1 year and 3 months.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Covers Entire Room

good but not a smart robot

I have a the 560, supposed to be one of the best. It's not very smart. It just runs into everything until it triggers a program mode to run e.g. circle table leg, clean wall edge, etc. If no one is home and everything is picked up, then it does a decent job of cleaning. Much harder when there are people in the house because it gets confused. iRobot needs to step up if they plan on competing with the Samsung robot that's coming. It has a camera and cleans like a human would.
Pros: Automatic, Cleans Effectively, Great For Pet Hair, Long Run Time, Pet Friendly
Cons: Attacks floor lamps, Can Get Stuck, Can't see dark objects, Can't see metal objects, Can't see narrow objects, Leaves scuff marks

I just gave the girlfriend the boot, the only reason I kept her around was that she was great at cleaning my house. I just bought the Rhoomba 560 and it does a better job cleaning the hardwood floors and carpets, it does not complain, whine, it's not moody, I don't have to take it out for dinner and a movie, if it could fetch a beer from the fridge I'd probably propose to it, but hey, you can't have everything, Seriously ...I love the Rhoomba, and I'm glad to be single agiain.

This is the future, needs to be improved

I love this Robot.....we have 10 cats in our apartment;-) It´s a nightmare when it has some faulty part and needs to go to maintenance. This 560 is with us for 1 year and it was out to maintenance twice a 3 months maintenance in total. So from 12 months we have used it only 9 months. Last maintenance, they sent us a new one, but with a battery completely empty, no charge at all (This is the worst you can do to a NIMH battery). This battery is dead now, it just gives the robot a 15-20 minutes power. I had to pay for a new one.:-(
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Pet Friendly
Cons: Can Get Stuck, Frequent Maintenance, Loses Charge Quickly
