Timesaver??

This is a real timesaver, although in one way it's NOT a timesaver: when my husband first got it, he would follow it from room to room, amazed at how it maneuvered around the house! Seriously, it's very reliable, great suction, easy to empty, and on days we think that floors are pretty clean, it always amazes us with a dirt cup full of pet hair! We are beyond thrilled with it! Have had it for three months and absolutely no problems with it to date. "He" is part of the family now....
Pros: Easy To Empty, Easy To Use, Efficient, Good suction, Lightweight, Powerful/Good Suction, Reliable

I really loved the roomba when I first use it. But after 9 months of using it for a small appartment, it just stop working. I have 2 cats and they lost a lot of hair. I could not make a deal to send it back and pay the difference to have a 700 serie that seams better for cat hair. But in my research I found that there is a lot of competition and Roomba is really not the cheapest. I now have changed for a Neato XV-11 and I don't think I will go back to roomba again after the poor customer service. Product is ok, but for the price, it's not great.
Pros: Easy To Empty, Easy To Use
Cons: Heavy, Noisy, Short Power Cord
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

breaks soon after warranty ends

I used this every other day - loved the built in scheduling! But the sensor that detects the home base and virtual walls quit working after a little over a year -Out of warranty of course- and it's not fixable. You have to get a new unit! My Roomba 400 series lasted much longer than this one.
Pros: Cleans well, Easy To Empty, Easy To Use
Cons: Unreliable

Great but not pefect

My 560 is great. It HELPS me keep the house clean, but does not do it 100% all of the time. I think many people buy this thinking they will never have to clean again; but that is not the case. Look at it this way, I have hardwood floors in my living room. Instead of having to sweep once or twice a week, I only sweep once or twice a month. The scheduling feature is very nice and easy to use. Yes, you have to empty it almost every time is runs. I think it had good capacity though otherwise the unit would have to be huge to make room for more dirt capacity. I have two suggestions for iRobot; 1. Improve battery life. Just look at the design of the Apple iPhone 4. 2. Make the unit use RF instead of IR. This would mean it would find its ways home 99% of the time, instead of %50 of the time as it does now, at least for me in my configuration.
Pros: Easy To Empty, Easy To Use, Efficient
Cons: Noisy on Hardwood, Poor Battery Life

Fab but Feeble

Roomba 560 good cleaner? Yes. Robust? No Either I've been unlucky, or the Roomba 560 is anything but robust. I've owned mine for six months now, and have had to send it back for repair three times already! Twice the main brushes have stopped turning, once the problem was the side brush repeatedly falling off! Do I keep the brushes clear of hair etc? Oh yes, indeed I clean the unit out so often that my husband is of the opinion that it would be less work to revert to manual vacuuming. I think it's a wonderful cleaner, my home has never been so clean, but I'm rather worried about repair costs once it passes it's one year guarantee. I would recommend but with caution.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Covers Entire Room, Deep Cleaning Ability
Cons: Can Get Stuck, Does Not Clean Stairs, Frequent Maintenance, Frequent repairs required, Leaves tracks in carpet

Was I ever surprised

I accidentally received my 1st roomba when I ordered something totally unrelated but they said keep it. I was surprised at how well it works and have been using it for about 3 years now. It sit unused while we were remodeling for ~1+ yr but after a long battery charge it's working again. Takes a licking and keeps on ticking applies here. Although after sitting up for so long, the hour button won't change the hour, it still works great otherwise. SO I just unplugged battery and plugged back in at midnight & set the schedule to run at 1230 am...works for me. I would definitely recommend it to a friend esp. those with pets, just make sure you empty it EVERY time it cleans.

We've ownded our Roomba 560 for a few months and love it. We set it loose and it goes to town. The best part is, we can do other things while it's cleaning and we have an open floor plan so it will do an entire level for us in one session. It's super quiet too (sounds like a small fan). We even watch tv while it's doing the family room. On the con side - my wife and daughter have long hair and they leave a lot of it around. If we wait very long between uses, our Roomba will get clogged with hair about every 15 minutes. It's easy to clean the hair out but it's still a pain. Regardless, this is one of the best engineered products I have ever seen and we would purchase another one in a second.

Cons: Clogs Easily

It is amazing to me that a robot can do as well as it does! I'm so pleased with its cleaning power. When I'm cleaning the house and need the floors done I send Kilroy on his way! (Yeah that's his name, I was listening to "Mr. Roboto" the first time I used it and Kilroy stuck :) I'm thinking about getting a Scooba because I'm so impressed with the job it does. The brushes do need to be cleaned regularly or it will have a hard time picking up bigger things, but for the time it saves me in vacuuming, the maintenance is not a hassle.
