Roomba Beat by Pet hair

It works great picking up more dirt after my regular Hoover vacume. HOWEVER, I have a cocker/retriever mix that sheds and requires 5 minutes to clean the hair tightly wrapped around the sides of the rollers of the 560 after each use, even the same day. I note for twice the cost of the 560 there is a "pet hair" Roomba. If I go over the carpet 3-4 times in a row, it actually makes the carpet look 20 times better after my 19 year old ruins it. I do not agree with needing to buy Irobots with varied degrees of cleaning, the 560 is more expensive than most uprights and spending $ $500 for the 572 pet hair version rather than [$] just to get pet hair if it really will is horrible and I won't do it.
Cons: Unreliable

I have owned and still have 4 Roomba but all are in need of help - repair as they do not operated well they just run in circles. I also have a scooba which only worked for about 3 months. My problem is no one will answer my email - \i do not know where to go for service and in total \i have about 2000.00 invested in machines that do not work and need repair. \I have been attempting to get help for over 2 years. Why would \i buy another one.
Cons: Inefficient, Unreliable

The Roomba 532 robotic vacuum cleaner is basically a $30.00 floor sweeper with brains. So why buy one? Simply put the $300 or so additional you pay for the brains means you never have to do mindless chores like floor cleaning. This is not a toy. It is designed to be used frequently and should be; battery life is excellent if used often and roller bearings cleaned after each use. We have two dogs, a cat and 2,000 square feet of black wood floors; keeping up with the shedding was burning up lots of time after work when I'd rather be doing most anything else. Pushing a button before work now means no work after work! It goes under chairs and tables so you don't have to move them. And this unit finds its way back to its charging station and plugs itself in! I have heard some complaints about iRobot not offering a repair service. Look, how many under $500 high tech electronic items get repaired? If under warranty it's replaced, if not you either buy a newer one or fix it yourself. And newer is generally better. A lot of the bad reviews floating around the Internet are based on old machines; robotic sweepers and floor cleaners are cutting edge and improve with each new version. We are very happy with our purchase and the service.
Pros: Easy To Empty, Easy To Use, Efficient, Lightweight

Fairly decent workhorse

This product cleans our appartment, about 100 m², in about 1.5 hours. Because of it's size and rather complex layout (2 rooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 storage areas, living&dining area, kitchen, ...) it takes 2 cleaning cycles for the roomba to have cleaned the complete surface. This machine is perfect for an appartment like ours: no bumps, no cliffs, ... It cleans effortless underneath the seats, and navigates the obstacles completley. Two drawbacks: * the cat is slightly bothered, but no more then with a normal vacuum cleaner. She hides on a chair... * scheduling possibilities are limited to one cleaning run per day...
Pros: Easy To Use, Efficient, Powerful/Good Suction

5 yr old Roomba Red still in good shape!

To be honest, all I can really say about my old Roomba is that it's a great tool for folks who hate vaccuming. It's also good for the elderly and people with mobility issues. It's got a tough shell, so it can take a beating. (just don't let those cliff sensors go bad!) However, nothing is perfect; poor Rita was left plugged in for too long and her battery failed. Also, the virtual walls, despite being IR devices, can be thrown off by things like TV remotes. Bottom line: Don't leave your Roomba plugged in for more than two days, keep the cliff sensors clean, and it should last for years on end! Oh, and Scooba makes a great "buddy bot" for the Roomba.
Pros: Cuts dust, Durable, Makes a great gift
Cons: Keep it away from rugs, Noisy, Unreliable battery, Virtual wall can fail
