[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited about the Range until the upper oven quit working.Had the Maytag man out on a range that had less than 6hrs on it. To make a long story short the wire tape in the brains of the range was crimped and and that wouldn't allow the upper oven to work.

I hate this stove

I bought this stove to replace the Maytag Gemini I loved when I upgraded my kitchen. This one has a flat cooktop, which I dislike. I read the reviews, and thought I could live with the changes--no keypad, only one timer for two ovens. The oven door design has open grates in the top of the doors--guess where the liquid from my first boil-over flowed? I guess the doors need to taken apart to clean the glass. Now, when both ovens are on, one never actually comes up to temp, stays in preheat mode. Two of the burners are already only warm or high--after only two years. Don't buy this stove. After an unpleasant day of Thanksgiving cooking, this stove is going to be gone before Christmas! I have always felt Maytag makes a high Quality product. This "new and improved" Gemini stove is a complete disappointment.

Real Let Down

We have owned this product a little over 3 years and feel we can provide a honest assessment of the oven. The burners take forever to heat up and forget about trying to boil a large pot of water. The smooth top easily scratches from everyday use. The ovens take an additional 10 to 15 minutes to reach the operating temperature you have set even though the temperature indicator signals that it is ready. If you try to use both ovens at the same time you cannot regulate the temperature in either oven to properly bake. This product is a disgrace to the appliance industry and Maytag should be ashamed for producing such a defective product. Our new stove is arriving tomorrow.

Look for a better range before purchasing this one

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Gemini range we had since 2000 stopped working, so we purchased this Maytag Double Oven range.I am very dissatisfied with this oven. The Gemini from 16 years ago is definitely superior to this Double Oven. The timer is cumbersome to use, it is only set by pressing or holding the + and - buttons until the correct time is reached (there is no option to simply type in the desired time). In addition, there is only one timer, not 2 timers (one for each oven). When the timer goes off, it beeps only once (this is easily missed if you are not near the oven). The ovens do not cook food in the same way, so anything that is cooked in the bottom oven is typically burned, and food cooked in the top oven comes out perfect. In another 15 years, I will look for a range that has more of the same options I had grown accustomed to in the Gemini. Very dissatisfied.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Oven's software is not configured correctly and the sensors do not turn the heating element on and off on time to cook the food right. If I cook pizza, it never rises and stays flat, cook top but center raw same with muffin center stays raw and it top stays flat.

Looks great, performs lousy!

Purchased in December. In June, the switch for the left front/large burner shorted out somehow? The part has been ordered since then and we still do not have it installed. My thought is... ok what's next? We just replaced a Maytag dishwasher that was just 2 years old, because the door part was plastic and it broke. This is after replacing the door seal. The rear burner on the left does not heat as I would have expected. Not impressed!

Not nearly as Good As the old Gemini

I owned a Gemini oven for 14 years and when it's control panel failed and they no longer made the part, I went straight for another. What a mistake. This one has a much "cheaper" feel to the Quality of the materials, the design of the cook top is unusable for serious cooking, and the oven does not keep consistent temperature. And the large convection oven only has 2 racks, not 3, and does not have rack on rollers to assist in pulling out large turkeys, or such. They also did away with the second timer, which was a great help when you were baking in two different ovens.
