slow to preheat

I've been using my new appliance for about a month now. Was really shocked as to the time it takes to preheat the oven. Not a time-saver there. I also was dismayed that the owners manual did not help me on how to clean the burner top....what cleansers to use, how to clean off a burned spot, etc. Very little information. I am also having difficulty figuring out how to keep the burner "glowing" at a constant rate. Either I have to turn it at a high setting to get my food cooking, or wait forever for things to start up at a lower setting. It keeps turning off and on and so my food stops and starts cooking. I always thought that Maytag was all it. I don't think so anymore.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this product a month ago, and my final verdict is still on hold. I'm rating it a 3 for now until I've had more usage. There have been quite a few negative reviews regarding the glass cooktop. I agree that it's harder to keep clean, but with a little TLC, it looks great and does a great job. From what I saw during my shopping trip, all the major appliance companies are using this style of cooktop. My one concern is the pots slide too easily on the stovetop. I've ended up taking pots off the cooktop in order to stir, before putting them back on the burner. My other concern at this time is the oven temperature. I'm finding that I have to adjust cooking times, and in some cases, the oven temperature to cook certain items. Once I get used to it, I'm sure I'll be pleased. I have noticed that the internal temperature does not reach the set temperature when the display says it does. Usually takes a few more minutes to get up the to set temperature. As for the people who are giving negative marks for the size of the bottom storage drawer. What do you expect? The only other option would be to downsize the oven size, and I don't see that as an option. The drawer is sturdy, and although smaller, it fits my needs.

MAYTAG RANGE ONE MONTH OLD. HAPPY SO FAR WITH PERFORMANCE ,MOSTLY RANGE TOP USE. LACKS A CLEAR INDICATOR OF WHEN THE OVEN IS IN USE LIKE A RED INDICATOR LIGHT.BETTER DESCRIPTION OF CLEANING PRODUCTS INCLUDED WOULD BE A HELP,HARD TO ORDER CLEANING PRODUCTS ON MAYTAG WEB SITE.

First new oven range in 40 years: worth the wait!

This is our first new stove in over 40 years. Naturally we were surprised at the differences available, but even the big name brands had a cheap feel about them. Our new Maytag is solid, attractive and easy to learn to use. It is efficient, has numerous "modern" features, but not so many as to be wasteful or confusing. An excellent purchase all around. We are extremely pleased with it!

Nice Stove

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this stove a month ago. My previous stove I only owned for 3 years. I accidentally spilled sugar on the burner while making a desert. It pitted it so bad it looked awful on the glass top. But the real reason I got rid of it is because I have a metal handled pan and it scratched the back of the stove when it was pushed back to far. I was really hoping this stove had the hard enamel coating. But I only gave it a 4 star because just like the last one it just has a sprayed paint white on it. While putting it into place my husbands wedding band made a scratch in the white paint. They just don't make the nice enamel stoves anymore. Other then that issue I Love the stove itself. It heats up well threw the glass top and the oven heats up really fast, which my last one did not.
