Best electric range I have found

I love my oven and rave about it all the time. It's a great looking appliance and mostly easy to clean (though the inset rubberized rim around the cooktop can be tricky to clean.
Features I love:
- The luxury lighting is fantastic and gives you a great view, though the wattage of the bulbs suggested in the manual did not match the type that came in the oven. Also, they were hard to find.
- The luxury glide racks are incredible and I could not buy another oven without them. They roll out with the lightest single-finger pull, even with heavy items on them. You have to be careful not to push them in too fast though!
- The warming burner is a nice touch. I also like that you can select the size on 3 of the burners, where with many stoves, that option is only available on one. I appreciate the individual hot surface indicators for each burner, rather than a single one.
- The controls overall are very intuitive and easy to use. My previous oven required me to shut it off and start over it I wanted to change the temp while it was running, but this Electrolux makes adjustments very easy.
- The dual timers are great as well.
- After some thought, I like the small, second oven on the bottom. there are definitely pros and cons, and I considered an oven with the top small oven as well, but I figured I'd be more at risk for burning my arms, and would have a harder time seeing in it. The bottom oven works well, though having a lift out tray with some handles would really help as it's easy to burn your hands on the sides of the drawer.
I've moved twice since I bought this oven and both times swapped it for the brand new one in the house I bought, because I like the Electrolux better.

pros and cons

as far as the oven goes, i really like it. it proofs bread wonderfully. the warming/lower baking dwarer if very nice. i love everything about it but, the flat stovetop already has scratches and i have yet to find a great cleaner for it. you might want to consider a mottled pattern for the stovetop that hides a multitude of sins that inevitably will happen if you really use it. i have no idea how the stainless steel rim around the stovetop got scratched (and i was really careful!),but it did. love the lighting in the oven, the temperature probe. i am the kind of cook who has pretty much used all the features that were easy to learn. my cakes have turned out great. this is my 2nd convection oven.

Love the look/design. Purchased all 4 applicances for our new kitchen from Elecgtrolux. Love the second oven, makes meal prep for large groups so much easier. Warmer plate on top is a real bonus.
Family member at our last party loved the appliances so much they have since purchased the fridge and stove for their home.

The amazing kitchen stove
on February 8, 2011

This is an amazing stove. I like to bake and this stove does everything. I especially like the bread proofer. You make the bread and then put it in the proofer and in about 30 minutes it is ready to bake.
The glide out racks are unbelievabe. When testing cakes, cookies, etc. you just pull out the racks. Works great for the heavy items.
I was worried about keeping the top clean but by using 409 glass clearner, it stays cleans all the time. If something cooks over there is available a stove cleanser which works great.

Great electric range

Our Electrolux range has been terrific. It looks great and cooks even better. The obvious quality of construction and numerous features make it a value purchase despite the price.
The cooktop is powerful and adjustable for various sizes of cookware. Cleaning the exterior is easy because of the smooth surfaces, although the glass portions do tend to show fingerprints. The main oven is spacious and even cooking whether using convection or normal cooking. The second, smaller oven is a bonus that works equally well. The self clean feature works well and we can tell that the oven is better insulated than our previous oven. The oven racks which glide on bearings exemplify the overall quality of the range.
The touch controls are marvelous, but it will take a few minutes to learn how to do simple tasks, and a week or two to master all the possibilities. I do most of the cooking, but my husband has no trouble using it, so that's a strong recommendation.

get the extended warranty
on April 9, 2012

I read every review I could find about stoves before purchasing this and it came highly recommended by them all. I agree it's absolutely amazing. The way the racks slide in and out so smoothly is wonderful and the temp controls and touch panels and double ovens just put it way over the top of everything else. I purchased the extended warranty on it as well as the refrigerator I bought because of the price and I am glad I did because eighteen months into the purchase the cooktop has started to go crazy. They are getting me new control pads and the cost is over a thousand dollars including the labor so I am glad I did that. That is the reason it did not receive a 5 star rating from me because i am disappointed that 18 months later it broke down.

EW30EF65GS Review
on May 12, 2012

Like many others I reviewed the various ranges and determined that the EW30EF65GS Range was the best one. Its very attractive and the drawer slides make checking on your food while cooking a lot easier. Plus the touch screen display made selecting the various options much simpler. But that was 1.5 years ago. Plus I did not purchase the extended warranty. I finally decided to check out the self cleaning feature after having it for 1.5 years. It worked great until the end of the self cleaning operation countdown. Then the whole unit shut down, no error codes - nothing. The service tech I called attempted to follow the troubleshooting manual and threw it away. $800 later with two power supply boards and the touch screen display replaced it finally works again. But I am apprehensive on trying to use the self cleaning feature ever again.

Still Learning
on February 9, 2011

We have this stove for a little over a year now. The features are great, although I'm still learning how to use them. The stove top is set up very nice, maybe you might want to connect front & back on 1 side to fit a griddle. The lower oven comes in handy for the 2nd cooking temperature or just keeping warm. The main oven is great & 3 shelves is a major plus for the holidays. The features on the upper oven that I have used seem to be easy & even. We haven't tried the slow cooker or dehydration yet & we may never. Only made 1 cake & it went well. The wave-touch controls work great & once you get used to them it's easy. Glad we went in this direction.
