Mine didn even come with a subwoofer cable! The sound is alright but not a lot of mid-range.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great little sub/ sat system

Purchased these way back in 2004, SCS 136 (exact specs as the 145.5) only different they came with mesh speaker covers instead of metal. I have them connected to my Onkyo TX-NR509 receiver with banana plugs. I'm surprised that the satellites are two-way designs, with a 0.5-inch titanium dome tweeter and a 3-inch woofer. Overall I'm very impressed with these tiny sat speakers. They have the fullness of much larger speakers. The center channel with two 3" drivers makes dialogue pop and sound
very clear. The subs down-firing 8-inch woofer also supplies plenty of bass needed during my blu-ray movie watching. My only complaint is the sats have no keyhole slots. I'm forced to use outdoor double sided tape on the base of the sats and press them firmly on my Sanus hover speaker stands. I did replace the enclosed speaker wire with Monster 16 ga wire and ended up using the wall mounts that were supplied with the sats.

Big sound for small rooms.
