Pin keeps falling off

I loved this mixer and got 4 years use out of it. Having said that, I compare this unit that I have to all the other people that say they have had Kitchen Aid mixers for more than two decades and I refuse to believe that the pin has not been an issue....
In my neighborhood (all avid bakers), there are at least 4 users who have had the tilt head mixers who have all complained about the pin falling out while kneading dough and the whole unit falling down to the tile floor (in one case). I am not really sure why Kitchen Aid will not address this as a problem with their mixers... that is the only reason I hesitate giving my business to them again when I look for a replacement!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have had the mini stand mixer for a few years. I could only do one batch of an item, before it would start to slow down. This mixer has done at least three batches of cookies with no problems.
