make it the best cyber-shot ever

why still the image sensor is so small, replace it with that of RX100. several features were excluded from its previous model ie dsc hx200v, i want every feature to be included in it.if this is done it would be the best combination of dslr and point-shoot camera in the market - for professionals as well as beginners.
What's great about it: amazing zooming capability, brilliant body style, improved lens quality
What's not so great: small sensor, lack of 3D shooting
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is an amazing camera

I got this a few days ago. It is my 5th Sony. It is very easy to use and has incredible features. I purchased the Canon Cybershot 50X 2 weeks ago to compare the 2. Without a doubt the Sony is much more user friendly. Similar features, panorama and effects. The Sony has more and they are easier to use. The zoom goes digital as well up to 200X. I thought it was listed 50X opt and 100X dig, so good news. Certainly larger and heavier than Canon. Have to be careful with shutter button, it is very light touch and you may take a photo while trying to focus by mistake. The zoom not as fast as other Sonys. Now for the sad news, the zoom ( image ) on the Canon is better at the higher magnifications, 50x, 100x and 200x. Regular shots,Sony is excellent. I bought this to take shots of birds and the focus and clarity is just not there.Macro, flawless. Do not know what to do, thought I was a Sony customer for life. I do use a Canon T4i for portraits but wanted a quick 50X for the wildlife. I am shooting the 2 side by side hoping the Sony will win.
What's great about it: Incredible effects, easy to use
What's not so great: only zoom at 50x,100x and 200x lacking

What happened to the review that I've written?

I wrote a very detailed review of all of the things wrong with this camera 2 weeks ago and it's not listed here on the website. Do you pick and choose which reviews you will publish? I guess if you didn't, no one would purchase this camera. I will try again and see if this makes it to the site.
I will say, do not buy this camera. If you're upgrading from a previous model, you will be disappointed!! To make a long story short. They have not upgraded the quality. If anything, it is NOT as good as previous models. The pictures are not clear like they should be. When using the flash, the pictures will be flash burned. EVERY time! There is a red tint because they're so blown out from the flash. You can't take a photo while videoing like previous models. You can't zoom in or out after taking a photo or you will go to a calendar screen or a gallery screen. So, if you take a shot , zoomed in and decide...oh, I need to zoom out, I'm too close. You have to wait for the photo to disappear off of the screen or you have to push the shutter down before zooming out or in. This is extremely frustrating and you will definitely miss an important moment because of this!! It is much heavier than previous models. Big zoom is worthless unless you have a tripod or a super super steady arm. Colors aren't as vibrant as previous models. It seems to have a cheap point and shoot picture quality. I am pretty sure that my Samsung Galaxy S3 phone takes better pictures than this camera!!
As of now, the only positive thing that I have to say is that the video quality is better than the previous models but if you want this camera for mostly photos then...DO Not BUY !! I will be returning it!

The Sony HX300 is a great option for someone wanting the convenience of a point-and-shoot while being able to make some creative adjustments found on DSLRs. The telephoto reach is amazing. When fully zoomed, I was able to get shots of two climbers on the top of Smith Rock in Oregon from a distance at which I could barely see them with the naked eye. Had I personally know the climbers, I would have been able to identify them by viewing their faces in the photo.

to tell you the truth with this price and this specific this camera is great
and exactly other competitors like nikon p520 and Canon Powershot Sx50 and Fujifilm Finepix SL1000 have same sencor size ,
but Sony is taking advantage of Exmor R sensor on this camera .
by and large its OK for a D-SLR bridge camera
What's not so great: it price vs other D-SLR bridge camera and Low-speed movie capture In contrast to 400 frames per second or more.
I would recommend this to a friend!
