I purchased my Whirlpool WDF540PADBO in June 2015. I was replacing my old dishwasher that was over 20 years old. The only thing I find handy with this new dishwasher is that it is quieter than the old one and it can hold more dishes. The main complaint I have is we rinse all of our dishes before putting them in the dishwasher and they come out dirtier than when we put them in. It makes no sense to us. VERY disappointed in this dishwasher!!!! Wastes more energy as I have to run the dishwasher more times, I am beginning to think it would just be easier to hand wash the dishes.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Back to Basics

because it is so basic. The basket/rack layout allows me to put my dishes in the way I want, very flexible and spacious. I like that I can put the cutlery basket in the lower basket or on the door. The only downside so far is the slots in the cutlery basket are too small.

New but broken

American Home Shield replaced our old dishwasher with this new one. When installed it was discovered that it has a defective valve that leaks. We're being told now the valve is on back order. Really!! It's a brand new machine. We took delivery on Sept. 21 and it's now Oct. 13.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The controls are very easy to use. The filter is easy to clean. This unit is so quiet that you can barely tell it's running when you are standing next to it. We were surprised that it takes longer than our old one (20 yes) but I think they all do in order to be more energy and water efficient

I installed this dishwasher a few weeks ago & must say that I am impressed. After getting used to the differences from the old DW I can say that this unit is a tremendous value. Very quiet & simply does a great job of getting the dishes clean. I searched long & hard for the best combination of $$'s & value. I am sure this Whirlpool is at the top of that list.

We just purchased a new home and knew I had to replace the old dishwasher. We have bought several Whirlpool appliances. I love the load space the dishwasher provides, along with super easy to operate and super quiet.
