We purchased this dishwasher as a replacement for a worn out GE unit that we were never happy with. We got a great deal on the new Whirlpool dishwasher at Menards. Unit was easy to install and is so quiet. My wife is so happy with the way that it cleans our dishes, and I am happy with the low energy use rating.
I went a year without a dishwasher and was so excited to get this. It is so quiet. My favorite feature is being able to set it for delayed start. That way I can clean up after dinner, then any dishes we have later can be put in by the kids and I don't have to remember to go back and turn it on before bed.
My wife and I both love our new Whirlpool dish washer. We have had good dishwashers in the past but have never had one that gets our dishes, pots, pans and silverware so sparkling clean. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! It's a brilliant shine. Also, it is unbelievably quiet. We've never seen a dishwasher this quiet. There are absolutely no negatives about this product.
I bought this unit several weeks ago and overall feel it was a good investment and would recommend it as a good basic model if you are not looking for a lot of bells and whistles. This is my first Whirlpool appliance, and was also happy to know it was made in OH.What I like the best is that is that it is very quiet, and it cleans well. Other then the initial start up you barely know it's running. The top rack configuration is good for small plates/dishes, and I like the angle the cups and glasses lean so the water tends to slide off rather than creating a pool on the top. The Sensor Cycle is also a big plus. With the pluses, there are some features on this model that could be better designed. The silverware/utensil holder is small and awkward. It is half the depth of my previous one. I should have kept the old one.The on-the-door placement is very awkward at best, but do see the benefit of having more room during the wash cycle for other items. Until I'm ready to run it I just keep it inside.Drying is another issue. Even using the dry and rinse agent has not prevented wetness on the inside of the tub walls and door even after cycle is complete, but the dishes are dry for the most part. I questioned having to use a dry/rinse aid with Whirlpool, as I've never had to use this product in the past. Whirlpool advised new regulations do not allow the heating elements to be as hot as the ones in the older models, therefore there is a need for the product which aides in drying. I'm not happy with the wet walls and other then to wipe everything down afterward I'm not sure of another good solution. The third item is the unit not having a counter to see where you are in the cycle. It's a mystery until it moves to "clean." I really do miss this feature, although it was not a determining factor in my decision to purchase.
You cannot beat a whirlpool product, we own three of them with the new dishwasher we just purchased. When you see them delivered and on the box you see made in America how can you go wrong. Keep our work force strong buy American. Thank you whirlpool.
This Dishwasher is great. Totally different concept in washing. During cycle unit washes for a short period then dumps water. This happens many times during each cycle but saves water and power. Dishes come out clean and dry every time. Only negative I wish the door had a mechanical latch release handle instead of a friction push in and pull out. Hard for wife to pull out. Not a deal breaker.
I thought for the money this was a great buy. I own some rentals and seem to have to replace them quite offen. I hope this one last longer than other brands I have been purchasing.
