We are very happy with our new dishwasher. It is quieter than we thought it would be and also holds far more dishes than our old machine.

When I bought the dishwasher and read all of the instructions I was surprised that it says it takes 2 1/2 hours to complete a wash cycle. It also says this makes it highly energy efficient. BUT, after the first wash my dishes looked like new. Glasses lost all of their scum from tea and hard water. I LOVE IT!!!

Great dishwasher

Purchased one month ago. Here's what I like:1. Silverware rack is in the door, which maximizes space in the lower dish rack;2. The racks are laid out in a consistent way, which makes it easier to fit more in, i.e. there aren't 'special sections' with wider spaces or higher/lower prongs;3. It's QUIET;4. It gets even dried on oatmeal off!My only complaint is that it doesn't seem to do very well with drink/water bottles and I still have to wash those by hand.

Not happy with dishwasher

I replaced my 18 year old Whirlpool dishwasher with this one about a month ago. I'm not happy with how the dishes get dried. There is water on the bottoms of my flatware, utensils, and plates when I take them out. I have used all the cycles, and none of them dry like my old dishwasher. I also heat the wash water, use the sani rinse, and heated dry cycle. I use the detergent and the rinse agent that Whirlpool recommended. I even opened the door after the completed cycle to let the steam out. I've also left the clean dishes in the dishwasher several hours to see if they get completely dry, they don't. I never used rinse agent in my old dishwasher and everything was dry most of the time. I have a water softener. I also, don't like the lid on the silverware basket. I don't like to pick up clean silverware by the tops with my fingers. It is almost impossible to get them out of the lid by the handles, so I don't use the lid. I don't think I can get as much flatware and utensils in this basket as my old one either. I bought the whirlpool because of the silverware basket in the door. I rinse and clean my dishes with a brush before I wash them, so they do get clean. Once I put a casserole dish in that still had some food on it, and had to wash it again.

Disappointed

Very basic dishwasher. Design flaws include having the utensil basket in the door which prohibits you from being able to load the bottom rack at the same time as silverware. I have to save all my silverware until the end as you can't have the rack out and get to the silverware basket at the same time. I guess they thought making the door prop halfway open when the bottom basket was in would be helpful for when you did want to load utensils, but this is a total pain because you have to push it down with one hand while pulling the rack out with the other when you want to bring out the lower rack. The utensil basket also has VERY narrow openings so will not hold much silverware. Not much space between racks so tall cookie sheets won't fit and they are not adjustable. Have to scrub off everything BEFORE you load or it won't come off (especially peanut butter, cheese, and spinach). Also makes weird hesitating sounds during the first part of the cycle. Absolutely hate that I am stuck with this and thinking about just going ahead and buying another one regardless of the money.

This new dishwasher is replacing our unite that we installed when the house was built. The house was built in 1991 and we moved in on Good Friday of that year, almost 25 years.

We had a Bosch which doesn't come close to our new Whirlpool. I am so impressed with how amazing and well this one does my dishes.

This is a replacement unit for my Kenmore. It is much more quiet and since the flatware bin is on the door, it gives me a great deal more room inside.
