Best Printer I've used..

This printer was purchased a little over a year ago and it is still going strong! I have replaced the cartridges twice, but I don't print everyday, but I still use it quite a bit. My main use for this printer is for photos. I love the quality output of the pictures and also of the scans. Anyhow, that is unfortunate that some have had problems with this printer. I would definitely recommend this printer.
Pros: Compact Design, durable, Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed, Low Ink Consumption, reliable, Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: Heavy/Bulky

Do not buy

The economical aspect of having separate ink tanks is a great idea, however it is very poorly implemented in this product. Once ink levels run low, you will receive an error message and the printer will cease to function. I mean, if you run out of one color ink tank you cannot print in black, copy, scan, or anything. The printer only recognizes Canon-brand inks. One can buy a chip resetter that resets the chip on the OEM ink tanks so that they can be refilled and recognized as full by the printer. However, my printer even fails to recognize brand new OEM ink tanks and constantly displays an error message.
Pros: Compact Design
Cons: Flimsy Construction, unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used several different brand printers that had several features but the ease and quality of this one for the price is outstanding.

Great All in One

I have had this printer a year and use it every day for photos, brochure and manual production, letters, posters, cards, copier, scanning, etc. It is the smallest all-in-one with duplex capability and has done countless duplex jobs without one failure. I love the twin trays. That didn't show well in advertisements, but leave photo paper in the lower cassette tray and 24# paper in the rear tray. I like the ink management system. The only thing it is missing is a document feed system, but they generally are larger machines and I can do without. Thanks Cannon.

Canon PIXMA MP-610 Kudos

Excellent machine! My first Canon printer. Have used many other brands over the years; this is the best. I'm very happy with the 610. Its' fit and finish, ease of use, features and versatility make it a great multipurpose machine.
A few years ago, I would not have bought a multipurpose machine because they were generally not very good at any of their functions. After testing this one and many others at the store(s), the choice was easy.
This ink tanks are inexpensive and last.

broken feed

Everything worked flawlessly on this printer for about 6 months, then paper started feeding only on one side. Completely broken and useless now. I just recently replaced one ink cartridge, hardly used in my opinion, cheap rollers or something. My first negative review of anything.

Great purchase

Great fast printing. Easy to set up and use. Love the two input trays and the double sided printing feature. It's a little larger than my other printer, but the features are worth it.

Worth the money

I bought this printer primarily to print photos. The pictures come out better than store processed ones. My ink usage comes to about $.25 per 4x6 which is better than what most processing labs charge. I have not experienced any problems for a year now. Oh yeah, and the scanner copier works great too.
Pros: easy to use, fast print speed, Low Ink Consumption, reliable, Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: Large Footprint
