This TV has already saved us money on our electric service.
The plasma TV it's replacing cost quite a bit of money to operate.
We love Sony reliability and should have gone with the Bravia models much sooner.
For us this is a lot of TV for it's very reasonable price.
Thanx Sony!

Best 60" TV for the price

If you need a big bright 1080p TV on a budget this TV is the way to go. Integrated really well with my Sony Receiver. TV volume control also controls the surround sound volume. So far I have only used Netflix as part of the "Smart" TV. I haven't been able to figure out if I can use HBO GO or Amazon Prime on it yet.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hi LT619, thank you for your question, unfortunately the HBO GO app is only available on our google TVs and Amazon prime is not available on the KDL60R510A since the app cannot display close captions and it is a requirement for all internet video content

Cheap and practical, so-so "smart" TV

For the price, this is a great HD 1080p "Smart" TV. The pre-loaded Sony apps though are another thing; can't really watch internet connect i.e. www's because of the absence of Adobe Flash Player (and it wouldn't install on Sony's OS), so that's my major complaint. Youtube is OK, typing with a remote is a pain though but you can pair with a laptop, etc - search stuff on your external device and play on the Sony "smart" TV. Just won't work if the external device has an Apple logo.
Still looking for the one gizmo that will stream all sorts of Internet content onto my TV.

Semi smart TV

Okay, so this may not matter to a lot of people, but when we buy a "smart" tv from one of the biggest and best known electronics manufacturers in the world, we expect it to be exceptionally smart rather than the second rate intelligence of this unit. As this is a Sony Bravia line of smart TVs, this was a major part of our decision to buy it. Turns out this particular model, as a special buy, is lacking some of the features of a "normal" smart TV. In particular, it is not compatible with Hulu or Amazon Prime. Like I said, May not be a big issue for most, but we don't pay for the OMG cable package as we get 90% of the programs w watch through our Hulu account. And we're Amazon Prime members with access to free premium content from that service. It never occurred to us that a Sony Bravia branded smart TV would not support such common apps as these. And to make it worse, the TV is not compatible with Sony's own smart phone app and the built in browser only works if you plug in a mouse and keyboard (and even with that we've yet to be able to select a link on a web page). Now we've got to go by another dongle to put on it (Amazon Fire, Roku, Chromecast, ....) to make this TV truly smart the way it should have been out of the box. Like buying a computer with built in Bluetooth and having to put a dongle in the usb port to run your mouse. Just stupid. Picture is okay. It is 120 hz tv (in spite of the 240 motion processing that's on the box). What little we've used it has been okay. We don't have cable in the room where it's installed, so without buying that extra dongle, it's been fairly worthless.

Great picture, no complaints.
When watching Netflix, hitting the "home" button the tv did freeze one time, maybe due to hitting too many buttons, but other than that No Complaints and would recommend to someone else. Many options including, games, internet browser, Netflix, and many more.

Replaced my 46 inch Sony with this 60 inch. Wow! Just like sitting in the movies. The picture is crisp and clean. Love Everything. The sound is GREAT. The tv has down firing speakers which allow great sound reproduction and volume. You will not be disappointed in this TV!
