Sounds Good

Works well with my cell phone and tablet. Not to well with my computer, although it does discover it. It's probably the computer. Lacks bass, but no speaker this size puts out much bass. The reason why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is nothing is perfect.

I have had my JBL Charge for a couple of months now, and I chose it after demoing a dozen or so different bluetooth speakers. To me, the Charge has a forward mid tonality with decent bass and treble for it's size and price point. And it plays really loud compared to others in its price range that are this portable.
However, one could overdrive the speaker. The person in the other review who has had to exchange a few because of the speaker developing crackling probably ran it too loud. I find that it is possible to turn it up to where it is distorting if the audio signal is loud enough. Some people just haven't learned yet how not to kill speakers. LOL

I love this. Being an "audiophile," I love music. However, I lost the hearing in my right ear over a year ago, and listening to music since has been such a let down. Since I've found this little gem, I'm back to enjoying music again! This speaker delivers a full, rich sound that I can enjoy. I'm so thankful!

I am a bit old school with sonic demands beyond today's average. Being an out of doors enthusiast calls for some compromise away from the home system. I am almost full-time camper/ sailor so a bluetooth enabled device was a practical direction. Almost all of my electrical power comes from solar panels so power consumption rolled into the consideration. JBL has been a trusted company for decades as well.
Bottom line the CHARGE is perfect for my very mobile needs. Form factor is an added benefit.

I just picked it up today. So far, pretty good. I have been contemplating purchasing a wireless speaker for a while because I travel and spend a lot of time in hotels. I love music so I needed something that would deliver good sound in a small package. I picked up a Jawbone mini a few months ago but I returned it. It lacked volume and when it was turned up, the bass reproduction made the little guy dance all over the table. So far the sound quality on the Charge is far superior. I can't say anything about the durability since I've had it less than 24 hours but it feels like it will hold up well. Really the only complaint I have is that my Motorola Droid Mini doesn't control the volume. I have to use the controls on the Charge. An annoyance really and it's likely my phone, not the Charge but I wanted to give a heads-up to other Droid Mini owners out there. The important part is the sound though, and that is better than I expected from such a little speaker. Bass levels are adequate, it doesn't try to move too much air because it can't. It moves enough for the bass to be heard though. Mids and highs are very clear and stand out well. I haven't cranked it up yet but I don't generally listen to music at full volume and this is after all a small wireless speaker, not a full sized home stereo. All in all it seems like a good purchase so far. I will update this review with any changes and whether or not I figure out why my phone won't change the volume....

I use this speaker everywhere, but mainly on my bike while riding. I have researched a case for this model like the Flip I that has a net/mesh material, but no way to mount on the bike. I am devising a mount to keep it high off the elements on the streets or trails. Other than that, this device is wonderful and "turns heads" as they say!@

I had the JBL Flip and I love them but, these are just AWESOME! I really love these ones, better bass, less clipping and a lot louder! I bought them with a great deal of 50% discount. :)
