I recently bought the Charge mainly to use outdoors (golfing, etc.) and one of the main highlights has been the battery life, this things lasts forever. The sound is good for a smaller speaker, no complaints. The added benefit of being able to charge your phone off the speaker is awesome.
I own two speakers, one is stored in the trunk of my auto and the other is at home for outdoor use. I am satisfied with the sound especially when played at a level that is not pushing it to a distorted level. Sorry I cannot be more specific on this issue of sound level. The manufacturer is correct on the battery playtime for the speaker, it outlast an iPad battery time. The sound is very good, the voice and instruments are detailed and true to the original source. The unit is priced correctly in what it does and for speakers that are competitive. Everyone that listens to this speaker states that they like and would purchase the JBL.
I inline skate and cycle. I use to use earphones when biking...not anymore this JBL Charger is off the hook! I did my research of the product and it paid off and I might add a conversation tool also. You can't go wrong with this device. I take it everywhere.
Love our JBL Charge! Did a lot of research on Bluetooth portable speakers and this one had the best reviews and most value for the money and I can only reaffirm the awesomeness of this. It's easy to connect the speakers to phones. You just need to connect your phone to the speaker during the initial sync with a USB cord and then you're good to go! Great battery life and sound quality from this little guy. Easy to transport and take with you. I found mine on eBay Now and couldn't be happier.
I bought this to use outdoors around the pool. My friends and I have no problem switching turns to play music, and the sound is simply amazing for such a small package. Everyone loves it and wants one badly.
I bot one in Feb 2014, liked it so much that I bot one for my girlfriend. Hers wouldn't charge after she had it for 3 months - luckily she had receipt and it was exchanged. Mine now is giving me the flashing red LED and won't charge either. - I was trying to find a reset or something on the web but no luck. So now, I will try another charger to see if the charger is bad, If that is not the problem, then I will also exchange mine. Beware of this issue and like the other posts - SAVE YOUR RECEIPT
I initially bought a Bose SoundLink based on its rave reviews. But when the SoundLink arrived I hated its muddy sound and boomy bass. And high ends in music were almost non-existent. So I immediately returned it and bought the Charge for half the price!. I love it. Even my non audiophile wife noticed how much better the sound was. It plays loud enough with fairly good clarity across the dynamic range.
I had originally hesitated to buy the Charge because of its shape, as I was concerned that the tubular shape would be a drawback in packing for travel and just carrying around, but I find it to be an advantage. Easy to hold in your hand in moving around the house, and it will pack easily any any nook in my bags. I love this little speaker with the big sound!
