Having had another brand (C) of fisheye, but changed camera to Sony, I just had to buy a fisheye to suit. This Sony is fantastic, sharp, light weight. An absolute pleasure. These full-frame (rather than circular) fisheye lenses open up a whole world of photography. It's easy to be tempted by manual aperture cheap lenses or add-on converters, but they don't hold a candle to the quality and detail of this lens.
I can't wait until my new full-frame-sensor Sony camera arrives so I can fully explore this exciting world (because of its small sensor, my APS-C sensor Sony camera doesn't give anywhere near the 180 degree angle-of-view that this lens can produce, therefore it's not really suitable).
My only complaint is the built-in filters that are practically no use on a digital camera (they were designed for film). If they'd built-in a polarising filter it would have been much, much more use, especially with the extreme wide angle of this lens, and the lack of ability for the user to add filters to the front or back.

I love this lens but.

First let me say I love this lens it gives an incredible field of view on a A99. It can make the most boring scene look fantastic and bend lines in strange ways due to the distortion it creates, a fantastic lens to use in the city with high buildings or anywhere really. The only thing I don't like is the filters which were designed for film and are use-less on a digital camera, sony needs to update the lens and replace these filters with something useful like neutral density filters then this lens would be fantastic.
