Smart TV 51" Class 8500

A wonderful TV for Samsung in the smart television market. The digital picture is clear and the stand - alone sound good. While the ability to search channels with the remote is slow and complicated, I am tolerant of this drawback, and I will recommend this product because of its overall performance. Cost will be the limiting factor for most purchasers.
Pros: clear digital picture and sound
Cons: high cost

Upside: Wow! I didn't think a television could produce such lifelike images. This television amazes me every time I watch it.
Downside: Now I need to go back and re-watch all the movies in my collection to see what I've been missing.

Awesome Picture

I compared all the Top TV's, and until Cable and Satellite carriers start broadcasting in 4K, this is the BEST picture quality you are going to get!!! The crisp, clear, deep colors are stunning. I had to bring this TV home to really appreciate the quality because the big BOX Stores don't do the PLASMA TV's justice in the stores. If you can still find these 8500 Series Plasmas, you better gobble them up before they're all gone. I am so happy with this product. Once you've watched TV on the BEST picture quality, its hard to watch it on anything else. Seriously!!!
Pros: Realistic color, Lightweight, crisp details, stunningly clear
Cons: not offered in 8500 series without 3d

I love this TV!

This 51 inch plasma TV is great. I previously owned another brand plasma, which I hated to give up for this one. However, this one is a 3D HD plasma which I wanted to purchase for the 3D capabilities. I have not been disappointed. The picture and sound are fantastic and the smart features are awesome. It has on a few startups come up with a snowy screen, I just turned it off and then back on and it came up fine. This has only happened once since the last software upgrade.
I have looked at the curved screen and think I prefer my flat screen.
There are several features I don't use, like the camera and voice control, but the remotes are very effective and I also have the Samsung 3D Blu Ray Player and the devices work great together.
I have just purchased a 32 inch Smart Samsung for the guest bedroom and it is working great as well.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color
I would recommend this to a friend!

My biggest complaint is they don't make this anymore..................what am I going to do when the one I have dies??????????? THE best one the market today!!!!

Pros: best tv I ever owned, breathtaking image, 3d depth like I never seen, black level beyond Kuro standard
Cons: After 2 months a line acros the screen appeared :( it's still @ warranty guys I expect them to call me about what we should do next :(

This has been an amazing tv, picture quality and design is awesome. i had to have the tv serviced for a bad board but Samsung took care of it very quickly and sent a service rep to my house the same week I called.

My bliss ended 5 after factory warranty

A thin vertical line appeared in the center of the screen 5 days after factory warranty ended and this is not my primary TV it saw minimum amount of usage I have another Samsung 50" plasma I bought in 08 and it's good as new I don't understand.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
