Outstanding picture quality

In addition to my newly purchased Samsung PN51F8500 plasma TV, I have two Pioneer Kuro 60 inch TV's. This Samsung is the only TV that I have seen that can equal the black level and contrast of my Pioneers. The fact that this TV has internet and 3D capabilities make this purchase a no-brainer. Since Pioneer and Panasonic have both exited the plasma market, there is no other manufacture that can provide the picture quality that Samsung has produced. I understand the move to LED/LCD, because of cost considerations, but those of us that demand the best picture quality, plasma is the only option and therefore, Samsung is the only manufacture left standing. Bravo, Samsung. You have made available a product that is head and shoulders above the others.
I am impressed with the almost 3D quality of normal 2D content and the almost OLED quality of the picture. If and when OLED technology is affordable and mainstream, I am certain that Samsung will be the first manufacture to make it available to those of us that know what a quality product looks like.

Great TV!

This is an exceptional TV with features galore! And the price is nice too. The 3D is good but since the glasses are active, any bright light from windows seems to flicker which can be distracting. I don't use the 3D that much anyway and if I do I can close curtains or watch at night.
I have not heard ANY noise coming from the TV like others have said.
I find the voice control is a bit flaky and seems to pop-up from the sound of the speakers. I just turned it off as I think it is more of a gimmick than a feature.
The picture is amazing which is why I bought the set. Unfortunately, the price dropped $100 since I bought it just a few weeks ago :(
Overall, get this TV, I think it blows away even the best LED TVs I have seen.

Worth Every Penny - and Then some

What an Incredible picture... fantastic colors, detail, blacks are Black and whites are White. This TV was a Christmas present to my husband and myself from us... we couldn't have asked for anything better! And although we couldn't be happier with viewing regular content shows, the amazing 3D functionality adds another layer of awesomeness that is incomparable. To top it all off, the TV itself rests on a sculpture like base that is an attractive addition to our living space. I would never choose to mount this set on the wall because it looks so great on its stand! We love our TV and wouldn't dream of a different purchase decision.

Well this is my first modern TV.. Absolutely amazing..
I bought this after looking for about 14months.. different reviews, information on LED, LCD and plasmas.. 3d etc, etc..
This came out as the winner on pretty much everything I had read..
Great app selection, easy to use setup and remotes..
My only complaint would be nice if they supplied a keyboard since it can be problematic with adding all the different features and sign ups..
Not sure on durability since I've only had this a short while. Less then a month..
really amazing picture.. would be nice if the 3D glasses were rechargable..
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color, easy to setup
Cons: should come with bluetooth keyboard., 3d glasses are not rechargeable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This Tv has the most realistic picture i have ever seen out of the box the picture is near perfect !!!
Amazing black level and the brightness is amazing for this being a plasma in a bright room or a dark room picture is unaffected. I had the 7100 lcd tv and returned it the picture was horrible compared to the older samsung lcd i was replacing this was the best decision i have ever made i am more than 100% happy with this tv.

Amazing clarity and picture. I highly recommend going to the review on CNET that suggests slight tweaks to the many, many color settings to fine tune the picture. After doing that, the picture, which was already amazing, became incredible.
Pros: Realistic color
Cons: no digital audio with netflix app

Great Picture dont kill the plasma line

i sure hope this high grade of picture isnt killed off by slower fake motion led's the picture is priceless. keep working on making new plasma panels battle LEDs!

Amazing picture and features

I call this TV the "transformer" because it can go from a crystal clear HD movie to a 3D movie to a computer internet mode to a social media platform. The main benefit to us is the amazing picture quality! Thats the main reason we bought this TV. The other features were secondary and we were not disappointed. We bought the 60 inch and glad we got the larger screen. The touchpad control took a while to get used to....but now we feel its far superior to the old fashioned button remote! On a negative note, the motion control and voice control don't work very well and we think are just gimmicks at this stage. We played with them and found out they weren't reliable and then shut them off in the menu. If you want the best picture in a darker room get the PLASMA option. We have had 2 LED's and been very dissatisfied with the "motion" that shows choppy movement of fast moving objects. Its very disconcerting. Our LED was 240 Mhz and it still had motion problems. Go with the Plasma if you want the best picture.
Pros: Bright display, outstanding picture quality
Cons: motion and voice control are poor
