Love this breadmaker. I have the worst luck making bread. I seem to make large biscuits lol. I actually made 2 successful loaves of bread in this machine on the first two tries!! I made the first one from the enclosed instruction book and the other from an internet recipe. Both turned out good. So happy with this purchase and looking forward to new recipes.

As others have written, if you leave the loaf in for the full amount of time it will burn on the outside. So I just set a timer for 10 minutes before that end time and unplug the machine ten minutes early. I take the bread out after the machine has been unplugged for ten or so minutes and it is fine.

I have had the Cuisinart before for 16 years and decided to replace with a new one as the old one died. This is a Model I would highly recommend. I did acquire 2 new paddles and also a paddle that came with the Oven. The problem I have is that all 3 paddles rust at the bottom where it sits on the spindle, during the kneading operation. This is not acceptable and is a health issue. Rust in kneaded dough is not recommended.

This is my 3rd bread maker so am experienced at this type of making bread. The 1st loaf I made was 2 lb beer bread in the recipe book that came with the machine. Very disappoiointed that it stuck to the pan and I had a very difficult time getting it out. I set it on medium crust and it came out much too dark for our taste. The second loaf I made another 2 lb loaf of rye and I set it on light and came out much better. The 3rd loaf I made a 2 lb pesto bread and it stuck to the lid. The 4th loaf I made a 1 1/2 loaf and it came out much better. I will be trying previous recipes I have to see how they come out but overall this machine is good but the directions & recipes that come with it are not adequate.
