The reason for the 4 is the recipes. They are easy enough to follow, however the end product is not always as desired. I have done my own research to improve the quality of what I bake and wish that some of these hacks would have been included in the recipe book. For Example: The Cinnamon Swirl Bread: Still a work in progress on my part, however the hacks to help keep the swirl and loaf together instead of having a big gap in the bread. I would also like to see the measurement in both Imperial and Metric for more precise measuring. With that, Hacks for fluffing flour instead of packing, how to form the dough into a good loaf, etc. Thank you, Cecil

1) I do not like beeps to indicate what I am supposed to do. It seems like an afterthought. You have a display, use it.
2) Your unit pauses for adding ingredients (if you can decipher how many beeps you heard) AND THEN the unit continues automatically. What if I am sitting in the bathroom and don’t hear it? I then fail to add extra ingredients and I am mad at you, mad at myself. What this means is that I have tolook at your timing chart and babysit the breadmaker. SMH.

Bought within the last month. Generally well pleased with the product. Although we always select light crust, the crusts come out dark and hard. We live at approximately 5600 feet altitude. Does this make a difference in the settings? If so, it would be advantageous to change the recipes accordingly. I did not intend to select my age. Please ignore the entry. Also, your review asks personal questions to which I object. Thanks

I have tried several times to make a plain loaf of bread. Each time it has come out like a heavy brick. I thought this would save time, brut it doesn’t. Don’t use and have tried to sell it with no luck.

I was so excited to get this bread maker but every single loaf comes out either under or overcooked. I've read a few reviews online and it appears you need to tweak the recipes to make it work properly - sadly I don't even know where to start with altering the recipe book it comes with. All in all, not too happy.

Nice look and design. Many features. Must select “light” for all breads. Quick bread setting must be monitored and removed before time is up. Not a walk-away unit.

My husband bought this for my bday upon my request- But honestly there’s like 10 bread makers at the thrift store- should have started there. All 3 loafs have been dense and hard to compete with store bought bread (thumbsdown)

I guess it's okay. I've used 3 different recipes from your booklet that the breadmaker came with. All 3 failed! I thought it was me, however, I have been making bread for awhile now by hand, ditch the recipe book, Cuisinart, or have recipes tried and true in your booklet. I was a professional chef once upon a time, your company has good products, but I was about ready to return this appliance back because off the recipes. Will try with other recipes that I have 1st.
