Good printer with ink problems

This is basically a useful printer that produces reasonable 4x6 photos. BUT, if the printer is not used for a time, the print heads clog and head cleaning may require up to 6-8 cycles, using up lots of expensive ink. Epson bundles the ink and paper, which combined with the head cleaning requirement if used infrequently, leaves you short of ink and with lots of extra paper. Epson specifies you should replace the cartridge every 6 months no matter what. Epson does offer a $0.35/sheet refund on unused paper, but realizing the "satisfaction guarantee" seems to be a time-consuming 8-week process. Can't really recommend this printer unless Epson were to unbundle the main operating cost, which is ink.

I bought a PictureMate personal photo lab/dash a little over a year ago. Then it started messing up. The pictures were horrible. I bought a new printer cartridge, but it didn't help. When it was working correctly, it was WONDERFUL! I'm hoping I just got a bad printer and I have ordered another one.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very Satisfied with Purchase

This small printer suprisingly prints with accurate color and quality. Its basically fool proof too. I purchased this small printer for my wife to print directly from her little digital camera and boy is it user friendly. Its extremely easy to load paper and change the ink cartiridge. We are very satisfied with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to purchase a small unit like this. Another great feature with this printer is that if you purchase the battery, you can take it on the road with you and print your images on the fly, share them with friends while on the raod. Pretty cool stuff!! By the way the battery is rechargeable too.

doesn't last but about 2 years

I bought a Picture Mate and had it for about a year and a half. It then wouldn't print pictures. I had a warranty so they sent me another one. This one has lasted about 2 years. It could get expensive buying these every 2 or 3 years. I WILL NOT buy another one.

Love the Pics

I bought the Picture Mate printer and I love it. However, the last two paper/cartridge packs I have bought, the printer cartridge has not lasted for the 150 papers that came with the package. I still have about 60 4 X 6 papers left over each time and the printer cartridge has to be replaced.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It's a piece of junk!

I had to replace my old picturemate, which i loved....now the new one only has 4 colors instead of the 5 that the previous version had and the picture difference is very noticeable. I was so disenchanted with the product, that i stopped using it and started using my epson r 2400 to print my 4x6 prints. If I could have not put any stars, I would have.

Worked good for about 100 photos, then it would leave lines in the photos, eat up ink packs attempting to run maintenance. Just an dont buy it JUNK!!!!!!!!!!
