Quality Prints

I mainly use the printer to label DVD's and CD's. It works excellent and the print quality is top notch. The tray to switch from printing off of sheet paper to print on DVD's is a little on the clunky side and seems like it might be fragile, but it hasn't broke yet.
It does a decent job of scanning photos, although some things I have scanned looked a little grainy, but that might be operator error.
The ink seems to get used up pretty quickly, which can get pricey. Epson seems to have as good a price as anyone on ink. I tried another ink brand and was less than satisfied with the results, so I will stick with Epson ink. Next time I will try the larger size cartridges to see if they last longer.
Overall I feel this printer is a good value. It was easy to set up on Windows Vista. Would be nice if it was easier to switch from sheet to DVD printing, but it is still working fine, and I have had this printer for about 8 months, and use it a lot. Would be nice if it had a FAX to but oh well.

Good Quality, Quiet, Fast

I really like the RX595. The quality of the photos is great, and I like the fact that the paper goes straight through rather than making a hard turn like my old printer which would jam with heavier stock.
The ink is pretty expensive, but I like to be able to replace only the color that runs out.
When I set up the printer on a Net Gear wireless print server, I found that I could no longer use the scanning capability. If I want to scan with it, I need to plug it directly into my computer. That was something that I specifically asked the sales person at Best Buy about, and he told me it would work fine with the print server, but NOOOOO. After many long calls to Tech Support, the answer was that it wouldn't scan when using the print server.
Other than that glich, I like the printer very well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Paper Jams

I have had this printer for less than a year. It has an uneven paper feed which creates paper jams. The printer is essentially useless now. I never got to utilize all of its features.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Lemon cd/dvd copy tray printer

I have purchased 3 epson printers. While I have been very impressed with the quality of prints, the cd/dvd copy tray leaves much to be desired. Each of the printers that were purchased, the cd/dvd suddenly stopped printing correctly on the blank disk. Print images were widely off center and nothing can be done to correct this malfunction. Print images were as much as two inches off center.If you are buying this printer for the dvd/cd labelling property you may want to reconsider.

AWESOME

I have a IMac and specifically purchased this printer to print on CD/DVD's and LOVE IT!! I make personal movies set to music for people and they love having the personal touch of a designed CD/DVD. I did purchase DiscCover from Mac to do the designs and I have never been so in love and my customers have never been so impressed!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bad experience

Brand new out of box. Could not get the printer set up to use it. Kept getting error message that ink cartridges could not be recognized. They were absolutely installed properly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

An All-Around High Performer for Business, Home

The Epson Stylus RX595 has proven to be a dependable, high-performance printing, scanning and copying solution for my home office AND my family's photo reproduction projects. We all love the RX595's print clarity and the richness of the Claria Hi-Definition inks. The photo restoration capabilities have helped us "rescue" many old and damaged family photos we thought were beyond repair.
