The door in door is perfect for families with kids

I love my new refrigerator!! The door in door feature
is so easy to use and handy for those items you use
frequently. The freezer is spacious for a side by side
and would recommend this to family and friends for
purchase.
Pros: easy to use, Quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great unit

We have had this fridge for about 7 months now and I'm impressed with the overall design. It's intelligently laid out - definitely the best fridge I've owned to date.
We have noted a few downsides:
-The door in door feature requires a real effort to latch so it frequently gets left open a crack (especially with kids) dismissing any energy savings you might realize.
- I REALLY miss the roll out shelves in the fridge compared to my old design.
-The separate water and ice activators confuse the heck out of most people and they typically spray water all over the floor when going for ice for the first time. Maybe some better labeling could fix that.
-We have had an issue with this unit freezing the water in the ice supply tubing rendering the ice maker useless. They have had to replace the door under warranty to fix it. I am hoping this was an isolated incident and not endemic to this LG model. If it is I hope LG will own up to it. Time will tell.

Love this refrigerator, so many reasons.

I bought all new LG appliances for my kitchen a few months ago. Where do I start? The refrigerator is my favorite, I love the door in door feature, so energy saving! The ice maker on door, great. I had a 28 cubic ft. side by side, I have more room in this one. Every time someone comes over I show them the appliances I purchased, especially the refrigerator. They all love the door in door feature and the space in the refrigerator and freezer. I am 84 years old and still get excited over a new refrigerator,
I love not having to open the whole door to get milk or eggs or small things I use often. Such an energy saver.
Pros: Style/Design, Features/Settings, Quality

Overall good features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As much as I love the size of the refrigerator, I am disappointed that it does not have a small deli-meat/cheese drawer. I DO LOVE THE VERY LARGE MEAT/VEGETABLE BINS. A small under the shelf drawer would be perfect. The shelves on the doors are narrow and do not accommodate regular size jars. I am disappointed that the shelves inside the fridge have fixed supports where you really cant adjust the shelves to accommodate tall bottles - thus forcing you to store the tall items (like wine bottles in the door-in-door feature - which is not a bad thing - but we have few tall bottles and don't really want them stored in the door-in-door. The shelves on the door are not adjustable and are a little too tall - thus making it difficult to put the juice bottle in and its a tight squeeze where the bottle top rubs along the bottom of the shelf directly above it.

So far so good. Works well. Nicely designed.

The fridge fits more than our previously larger fridge. It's very quiet and keeps vegetables fresh for quite awhile. It would be nice to have a bit more metal and glass instead of plastic, but so far no breaks. So far it seems to be a very well made fridge for the money.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Great Features and Lot of Space

Love the amount of space in the freezer with the icemaker in the door. Refrigerator has lots of space, just a little short on space for tall items (ketchup and other tall bottles). The door in door features is great with a busy family. Only complaint is the door in door does not latch easily and frequently gets left open, luckily the open door chime alerts us to this.
Pros: Quality, Features/Settings

Really beautiful refridgerator

We have been enjoying our door in door fridge for about 5 weeks. It is a beautiful addition to our kitchen and so far the stainless steel front is easy to take care of. The door in door feature is really handy and we use it a lot. The led lighting is also terrific. The unit is very quiet and the ice maker works perfectly. I have had to adjust the right door height twice now and I notice it sagging a little again. The in door ice maker leaves lots of room in the freezer and we are pleased with the configuration of the freezer shelving. The refer side needs more space for tall items and even with the adjustable shelves we are going to have to get used to shorter heights than we had in our last fridge. Moreover this is a really nice unit and we look forward to many years of use.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use

I have had this frig for just over a year. It is noisey' The bins keep breaking. Parts are impossible to find as it has been discounted. I order parts from sears parts but they keep sending parts that won't fit even though they had the correct parts no. LG doesn't even have the parts diagram posted anymore. I am very disappointed. I almost forgot. The waterline on the frig that was delivered to me was crushed. To fix it you have to replace the whole freezer door. It took three doors and 4 months to get that fixed. NO more LG in this house. In fact I will sell you one cheap.
Pros: Style/Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
