3and1/2 yrs of use and the agitator breaks! It grabs pajama legs and anything elastic and works belt strings under it. those paddles are flexible and they break right off leaving a jagged edge. tried gluing them back but no

I bought my Hotpoint back in Sept 2016 because I wanted a washer that was not electric all the way around just an old fashion washer & Store recommended the Hotpoint and that it was the best and plus it was on sale - Presently sadly to say that my Washer took a crash- AND off course I did not buy an extended warranty for I have known washer to last for a very long long time - and some type of mechanical system broke on the bottom of the washer machine which the part alone is very costly - I should have seen it coming since when i first bought the machine it did not fill up all the way no matter what level of size I placed it in nor did the agitator rotate has hard has I have heard other washer do. and of course per the Manufacture warranty they only replace parts and / or labor up to one year of time of purchase. what do you know one year only. I would not recommend this product -- so sad....

Great washer BUT

My previous two washers have been GE/Hotpoint and believe it or not lasted me a combined 44 years. Which is why I bought another Hotpoint. The basket size is nearly double my former washer. Huge plus. It washes well. BUT , on the spin cycle, it gets out of balance on loads containing such items as bedding, towels or blue jeans. I now check it on every load at the beginning of the rinse cycle and find most of the time that most of the wash is on one side. I hand redistribute the load and continue the cycle and it spins fine. I do not overload the washer. The washer is balanced. And it doesn't matter the size load, small, large or super. I have resigned myself to babysitting this washer. Also a suggestion for the rinse cycle would be a buzz or bell to tell when the fabric softener needs to go in. My model does not have a dispenser for this. The washer is so quiet except for the cooing noises it makes, I miss putting in the fabric softener a lot.
