Sharp Unit

We had our whirlpool duet washer go out last month. It was under our home warranty so we were able to get a new washer sent out to us at no charge. The warranty comany offered us this unit and based on the reviews we accepted the offer. I am so glad we did. It has all of the features you would ever need and is all that i could ask for and more!

I bought this machine June 1, 2015. The machine immediately had a terrible shrieking noise when washing any load of clothing on all cycles. Jan 10, 2015 the noise is gone. The machine washes clothes reasonably well. It is not quiet and it is nothing more than an average machine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy Process to Load & Begin Cycles

My 4 star rating is based on the fact I've owned this washer less than 2 weeks. Time is the real test and I'm curious to see how long this machine goes without an issue. I just let go of a 26 year old name-brand washer and thought I'd try this particular washer based on the percentage of positive reviews (on one home improvement web site - 93% would recommend this product to a friend!) My rating could go up as time goes on and I continue to enjoy the same great experience. Clothes come out even cleaner than they did with my old agitator washer (love the 'add steam' feature!) . . . even set-in stains (months old) that I couldn't remove before, are removed.The machine runs quietly - quiet for me may be different than quiet for you. I have a small house with laundry room fixtures sharing the same wall as my kitchen fixtures. The old machine made so much more noise than this one that I only did the laundry when everyone in the house was awake. Now I wash clothes any time of day/night as the sound is so muffled and quiet. I don't even notice it. Most of the negative reviews I read were based on experiences where it was somewhat obvious users weren't reading the owner's manual / instructions. If you do that much and learn how an HE machine functions AND how to operate correctly . . . you can't go wrong . . . so far, so good!

The operational manual is intimidating, but the control system is a dial, letting you select the type of load. Then the lights tell you the standard water temperature, dirt level and spin cycle, which you can alter easily with toggles. Very simple - Thank you. Two issues - the spin cycle is noisy and we will probably build a platform to elevate the units so they are not so low.

I love the cycle features and it being a high capacity washer. We do laundry everyday and this washer can get our clothes clean within a short time frame. With different cycle options, we can washer small to large loads and not have to worry about rewashing. Also it is energy efficient. They did worn us about a little smell it has if you leave wet clothes in it over night. I did notice it but when I put them in the dryer, it went away. I do leave the washer door open when not in use to prevent moisture, which causes the smell. I love this washer.

I've had this washing machine for about 4 mos. now and have already had repairman out to check why it is so loud when it spins. It sounds like a airplane. Would love to exchange it for a better model.
