I'm loving my new washer, had a GE washer before as well, but I absolutely adore my new one! What makes it so unique to me is the stain removal features. I have 5 children and they are so messy, I would have to use a spray on stain remover and a scrub brush on nearly every shirt, pair of pants, etc. sometimes taking 30-45 min just prepping and scrubbing before I could wash....but not with my new washer! I'm enjoying doing laundry! (yes, you read that right!)

Good features, but noisy!

You can add items during the first few minutes of most cycles; the "added steam" is a plus, also the option for a shorter cycle. The noise level during the spin cycle is deafening, much louder than my previous front load washer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Spin Cycle vibration & Noisy

Replaced previous 4 1/2 yr old GE washer that excessively twisted sheets and garments. Door sagged even though repaired under warranty for same reason in 1st year. Chose GE replacement to utilize pedestal and thought problems of past were corrected. Washer cleans good but vibrates and noisy on spin cycles.
I would recommend this to a friend!
