SERIOUS software issues
on January 27, 2008

Great little printer with SERIOUS software issues. Unreliable network printing. Had to reinstall software twice a week. Will not scan over a network. CRASHED my laptop! When trying to fax, all lights started flashing and then it just shut down. It's a shame because it's the perfect size and prints beautiful photos. Exchanged last night for an L7780. Wish me luck!

I'm not sure how I was able to live without this printer. It's fantastic and best of all the inks are affordable and allows for a wider range of colors. Thanks HP

Software Deinstalls Copy Function Slow
on February 17, 2008

I have a wireless network and have installed the software on 4 laptops, 2 Apples and 2 MS driven (XP and Vista) The Apples seem to hold the software OK(althought they too dumped the software at least once) but the XP and Vista driven laptops can't keep the software installed even with the "Patch" and no I don't have a Virus like the "support??" person tried to sell me. Also the copy function is slow if you want to make a lot of copies. My brother had he same problem and returned it under the return policy and bought a competitors product, and a friend of my daughter has the same software problem in her XP driven product. Print quality is very good though.

I have had printers by HP before that were great, this one misses the mark. NOISEY, SLOW, TEMPERMENTAL, If I didn't only purchase it 5 months ago I would toss it and get something different. Sorry, but this one ...yuk!

home use of this C7280 all-in-one is great. Easy to use functions. set-up was a snap. My experience after a year of owning this is to get it. Picture printing on the correct pic paper is easy as sin and really sharp. i bought the bluetooth adapter so i can take pics with my camera and bluetooth pics to printer. i use photosmart express to sharpen and fix pics and create albums and this comes out great. good for small project on the side use to create presents like photo albums. my friends couldn't afford a real photographer and i used my HP R742 dig camera combined with this printer and program on my PC to make them a phto album. They loved it. it came out better than some pro's i have seen. So by wod of mouth i do weddings cheap but there's a catch. i gotta eat and bring my girl along. other than that this is a highly reccomended printer, scanner , fax, and photo maker. BUY IT!!!!!!

A Real "ALL in One"

Just got 2 of these - one for the office and one for the home office. It does everything we need and more. I am particularly impressed by the connectivity options and how all the device functions (including scanning, OCR, and faxing) are available whether using USB, Ethernet or wireless. Software installation does take about 15 minutes - but there is a lot of software.

Got this to replace an aging PSC950 - I need an all in one but also like to print high quality photo's. Set up was straight forward - It is installed on one desktop and 2 laptops using a wireless router. Both Laptops I had to use the back button during set up as it would not see the printer first time of looking. But other then that all was easy. In use it is quite fast, draft prints are very quick, but time taken to transfer file from PC to printer can be quite long when using WiFi. Photo prints can be of high quality - I say can be as I have also found that sometimes it give a yellow tone to skin colours - Not sure if this is down to WB setting on the camera that took the picture. I have also noted a problem if the RLT feature is set to advanced whereby it gives black blocks on the picture - they are not there if you turn the feature off - Am still playing with the setups so I am sure issues can be ironed out as the majority of the prints are very high quality and look great. I would happily buy another given the same purchasing criteria.
