Best kettle ever

We bought this kettle in December 2016 and it is still rocking as hard as ever. No problems with lid or shutting off like other reviews. Our daughter lived off ramen and tea for the first 3.5 years of this kettle's life running it 7+ times a day not including the times i used it for tea, instant coffee and ramen myself. We paid a bit more for this kettle 4 years ago but it holds it's value. We love our breville and it is part of our family now.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Breville products don't buy

I am on my second Breville kettle. First was stainless steal -lasted 2 years. Then I bought the beautiful Crystal Clear Electric Kettle - Glass. Lasted a year. The on -off switch not working.
FYI I am also on my second Breville toaster . The first one lasted a year and a half. Another Breville - toaster oven also broke.
I like the look of Breville products. They over priced and I guess they don't last. I will never buy another Breville products. I am done with it.

Excellent kettle

This is the second kettle of this model we have had, the previous one showing signs of age after 7 years of multiple daily boilings! We like that it is 1,800 watts so boils faster than other kettles.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Price for Quality

Bought as a gift for my mom. Replacing another medium priced electric kettle which failed after 8-9 years. This time I wanted to go with a well known name for quality; breville. Upon opening box everything was there and no setup required. Plug and play. Heats up quickly and no issues so far. All parts are of premium quality.

I normally like Breville products and have several of their appliances but they need to take this off the market. I have had two of these models. Both failed at about two years. The lid assembly broke on the first one. The second one had a flaw in the stainless steel bottom of the kettle, which kept rusting. The lid assembly does not operate smoothly for the last year. Now the power switch has gone.

This is second Breville kettle which died after about 2 years. I had an identical one before ,

Breville Electric Glass Kettle

This is the third Breville Glass Kettle I have purchased. Every time the automatic lifting lid fails. The plastic cog wheel in the lid lifting mechanism breaks, probably through material fatigue. Breville has not fixed this design flaw yet over the years. The kettle is otherwise a good design but Breville should develop a spare parts option to allow a replacement lid to be easily purchased so owners can easily buy a new lid when the lifting mechanism breaks.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
