Good kit lens for video and still photographs in most lighting conditions. Aperature is not fast, so you will need to get another lens for low light conditions. Automatic setting does most of the work for you when you are having fun and want to get in a few quick pictures of the activities.
Great pictures but it is impossible to see what you are taking a picture of! When its a bright day the sun reflects your own relection onto teh LCD screen- so i was just basically shooting at what i thougth was the object and crossing my fingers. Maybe a good camera for somewhere with not a lot of sun- or indoor shots. But if you live some where sunny dont bother! you need a view finder.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi JulieG,
We suggest adjusting the Monitor Brightness of the camera to Sunny when using it outside. This will help you see the subject better using the LCD display.
