Cooks great when it wants to

I got this as an anniversary gift July 2020 and absolutely LOVED it until about two weeks ago. I’m having the same issues as a lot of the other reviews, it “finishes”cooking even when there is too much liquid left. I just turned it on for rice and less than 2 minutes later, it said it was finished. Super frustrating as I have to stand beside it for almost 20 minutes to repeatedly restart it in hopes it will cook for more than 2 minutes at a time. At this stage it would be easier to just cook my rice in a pot. In the 3 minutes it took me to write this review, I had to restart the rice twice.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Must have!

We have had this gem for over two years now. We love it. The easiest way to cook rice on the market. We have used to cook several different rices, risottos, steamed vegetables, and used it as a slow cooker. We have always hand washed with just a sponge the inner bowl, so we did not experience heavy wear like others who probably used dishwashers to clean it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have had this product for approximately 10 years. I have used the rice function weekly, slow cooker/sauté function every other week maybe and the risotto function once :)
It has performed almost flawlessly. It is super easy to clean up. I can stow it under the counter with 1 hand. It is bay far the most useful appliance I have after the toaster.
The best thing about it is being able to sauté to brown, then start slow cooking without having to use multiple pans.
I have replaced the inner pot once in those 10 years; love that parts are available!
I would recommend this to a friend!

No good!

I bought this product about one year ago. It is great for the time it works. The rice maker is erratic, with the rice being cooked anywhere from 15-40 minutes. Not good

Want to love it. They need to redesign the inner pot

I’ve owned this for four years and I love it, except for the inner pot which is very poorly made. I’ve replaced it once and now am looking at replacing it again. I really wish breville would redesign the inner pot to last longer and not get scratched.

Interesting to read these reviews. I have had my Breville rice cooker for over 12 years and it makes perfect rice every time!! I do agree about the inner pot and am hoping for one with a better non-stick lining. But I love this cooker.

Poor quality inner pot!

I have it since last 2 years and love it. But the inner pot is really poor quality and the Teflon coating wears of really quick. I have ordered the inner pot 2 times already. Not up to Breville standards. Am considering changing the product to a better one.

Total junk. Worked for less than a year

We loved this at first, but within a year the start button stopped working entirely. Powers on, but just won't do anything anymore. Complete trash. Despite lots of use, the insert is in very good condition. Feel terrible putting it in the garbage, but the cost of repair is the same as a new unit so we are stuck.
