Best washing machine we've ever owned

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I purchased this washing machine over 10 years ago and it's been by far the best one we've owned. Honestly, I'm surprised at the negative reviews. It washes clothes very well and so far has been very reliable. I will say that early on it did have issues with mildew but we we're keeping the door closed when not in use. However I learned that front loaders are prone to that when you keep the door closed so we just left it open when not in use. Mildew problem went away. I would buy another LG in a heart beat!

A five-year disaster

This washing machine was purchased five years ago and for five years it has shaken, rattled and rolled. I’m lucky I didn’t damage my back with repeated attempts to move the monster back into its resting space. Unfortunately, balancing the monster did not help and tech visits did not resolve issues with this appliance. In addition, the water intake valves of the monster shook the pipes in the house during the initial washing cycle and the smell coming out of the monster was remarkable at times—much like lingering over an open sewer. Today is a grand day. The monster comes out of service; it’s a shame since the complimentary dryer works so well and will stay in service for the time being. So glad to see that this model is no longer in production!

Doesn't clean well

Sorry I hadn't read the reviews before purchase. This model, WM2455HW, does not clean clothing well at all. The savings in water cost did not materialize because of having to wash things over even after using the water plus feature and/or the sanitizing setting.

This washer has a mildew problem

This LG washer looks fancy, but don't be fooled. It has a significant problem with mold and mildew to the point where the door must be left open at all times when not in use.
It's a terrible design. As much as I hate to say it, you're better off with a cheaper top-loading washer.

Had these machines for almost 15 years with only one service call. Unless you run them every day it’s helpful to leave the washer door open so that the left over water in the bottom can dry out and occasionally use a cleaning tablet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This washer came with my house & it worked great. I love the large capacity for washing quilts, and I loved all the wash settings. The bearings went but it was a 2008 machine so it lasted 14-15yrs.
