More than I hoped for

We were not going to buy this because of it's size but really didn't want to lose one of our 24" cabinets. Went ahead and bought without much expectation and we are so pleasantly surprised with how much it holds, how clean everything comes out and once we got used to the draining noise, which lasts for merely seconds, we do not even notice it is on even though it is in one big great room set up. We brought it home with us and my husband installed it in an afternoon. We are definately happy with this appliance.

Cleans....but

I have no issue with the cleaning ability...it does what it is supposed to do. I had a Danby (made in Canada, also), and I think this is made by the same company, as it is almost identical, except for the Frigidaire name on the front. I like the fact that I can disable the heating cycle, which I know they say only costs "pennies" to run, but I still think it's a waste of energy. The dishes come out sparkling, without spots (use a Rinse agent) without the drying cycle.
My issues are: this dishwasher is louder than the Danby was. The kick-plate on the bottom is so recessed that it looks odd in my kitchen, and....what's with the covers on the silverware holder? You can't fit any serving spoons, spatulas, etc in them, and they are tedious to load. I took them off right away....cleans the silverware just as well :)
All in all...I would recommend this product....they need to work on their sound-reduction, though. ~Monika, Riverside, RI USA

i had to purchase the smaller 18" for my kitchen, good thing they make the smaller size to match my other frigidaire appliances. i have the stainless steel and it works great. there is only the 2 of us here and that fits us perfectly without running a partially empty cycle.

Perfect for us!

We purchased this dishwasher for a downstairs entertainment area. The racks hold everything - coffee cups, wine glasses, plates, and utensils, and there are many choices in wash settings depending on the load. The unit is quiet, and the dishes are clean. I always use the drying cycle, and it leaves the stainless interior very shiny. The cost was more than a 24" built in, but it fits our space and is perfect for our needs.

Works Well

This dishwasher gets the job done, with no need to pre-rinse. Dishes come out clean every time, so performance is not an issue. I actually prefer having this smaller dishwasher opposed to a standard 24" one. Since it's smaller, it must be run more frequently, so I don't have to worry about bad odors while waiting to run a full load, nor do I ever run out of clean plates or silverware.
I do, however, have a few complaints: 1) It is nearly double the price of a standard 24" dishwasher! It seems really odd to me that a smaller dishwasher would be more expensive. 2) For the price, the aesthetics leave something to be desired. Most dishwashers stopped using knobs in favor of buttons, to achieve a cleaner, more streamlined look. I am not a fan of the cheap-looking knob, but all the other 18" dishwashers in this price range have this fault as well. That is because they are all made by the same manufacturer (I was told this by the salesperson), which is why I opted for the Frigidaire, since it was the cheapest. And 3) It can be a challenge to get pots and pans to fit neatly inside the racks, so you need to be creative.
Overall, it is a good dishwasher. I wish it was a little classier looking but, as stated before, it looks exactly the same as the GE & Whirlpool versions, so what can you do? The GE Profile was the only one that looked as nice as it's 24" counterpart, but that was $300+ more expensive. If you have limited space and need an 18" dishwasher, and don't want to spend $800-$1,000, then this is the dishwasher for you.

You can't see where the setting is for the short wash or other washes. You can't tell exactly where the settings starts.

This is the first dishwasher I have had in 43 years of marriage .It is wonderful to always have a clean counter and empty sink of dishes waiting to be washed. It works like a charm! Love it!
