Works well but mature technology is expensive and brushes much too expensive.

Good product, effective and convenient. The technology is mature yet price for the Sonicare products are too high, especially replacement brushes which must be replaced regularly to provide benefits. Also, the nicad battery in this model is soldered in place so it provides only nominal service life. This is a major complaint. This could easily be corrected. It appears the product is designed well but marketed to so that is must be replaced when the battery fails (about 2-years) with a new product. This is too bad. With user replacable battery, the product can last many more years.
Pros: effectiveness, ease of use
Cons: costs of brushes, non replaceable battery
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Powerful rotating speed. However, washing the brushheads' insides is a problem due to plaque build up

Overall a powerful electric toothbrush with great durability. However, the design could be better. Plaque builds up quickly between the cracks where the head and the body meets.
Pros: high speed, durable, inexpensive
Cons: design flaw causes plaque buildup inside, a pain to clean and maintain

Best Product Ever!

This is the first time that I have ever used an electronic toothbrush. The Sonicare was recommended by a co-worker and my dentist. What a difference!!! It feels like getting your teeth cleaned every time you use it. I am very, very happy with this product and recommend it to everyone!

Mold grows in Essence series

The product is designed poorly. Within days, mold and bacteria will grow and collect in the essence series toothbrush head. Essence series needs to be cleaned daily by removing the toothbrush head from the handle and running water through them. Who wants to take their toothbrush apart every day to clean the parts. Not me.
Buy a different series..sonic is a good brand.
Pros: this toothbrush clean well
Cons: gross mold
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This product has performed above my expectations

The unit requires very minimal storage space, has a reliable recharging system. Changing heads is simple. The automatic shutoff insures that I spend enough time in the cleaning process. I should have bought one years ago as recommended by my periodontist.
I would recommend this to a friend!

not worth the money

I purchased this product for my son after his dentist recommended it. He has used it for 6 months and at his recent checkup he still has new cavities. It is not any better than a regular toothbrush.
