Dentist said teeth are cleaner

I have been treated to gum desease for the last year. The last cleaning the Dentel Tech asked me what I had been doing because there was a dramatic improvemnet. When I told her I had begun using the Sonic Tooth brush - she said that is the reason!!

Saliva and toothpaste collect in the handle and the insides of the toothbrush and must be cleaned out at least once a week or else the mess coagulates and allows bacteria to thrive.
Other than that this is a reasonably good product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I previously purchased a pair of these brushes. One of the two failed about a year after I started using it. Because of the way they are marketed, I had to buy another pair just to replace the one that failed. Very annoying. If it happens again, I'll not buy from Philips' again.
Pros: when it works it's great help.
Cons: unpredictable longevity makes it a gamble

I have used Sonicare since the 1990s. They get better every time I need to by a new one (which is every 4-6 years!) If you take care of your base and replace the brush heads every three months or as needed, this product will serve you well. The new design allows you to take off the bottom part of the brush and rinse it out as well as the brush of course and the top of the base so you won't get any gross buildup. You just rinse, wipe dry with a towel quickly and Voilà! Clean teeth, better than a normal toothbrush clean and good dental checkups are on your way!
Pros: easy to use., easy to clean., great value for the price.

I recently purchased my second Sonicare toothbrushes for my husband and myself. We had our first one since they first came out and we wanted to make sure we got the same kind again. Our dentist always compliments us on what a great job we do taking care of our teeth. I can't imagine using anything else.
Pros: super on teeth & gums

Easy to use, love the timing device. Has produced great results, even my dentist commented on how much better I have been brushing. Only wish the brush replacements weren't so expensive.
Cons: brush replacement too expensive
