I purchased this item because I have had two sonicare toothbrushes previously and really was happy with both of them. They were dependable and efficient and lasted for several years each. I needed to recharge each of those about once every two weeks, which I deemed reasonable.
This new brush seems to clean well, but I have to recharge it at least once every week. It takes a good 24 hours to recharge so I am without use of the brush at least one day every week. I really believe that this is unacceptable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I'm not pleased with the toothbrush. It's not horrible but I'm not sure i will by another Phillips toothbrush. It seems weak but it's better than the battery operated Phillips toothbrush.

Everytime I use my Sonicare Toothbrush I feel like I just walked out of the dentist's office after having my teeth cleaned. Can't wait to see how much difference it makes the next time I go to the dentist.

I turned to the Sonicare toothbrush at the recommendation of my dental hygienist, mostly because I was causing too much wear of my teeth (I guess I'm at bit of an over-achiever). I read the directions carefully several times during my break-in period. At times I found it inconvenient to time my brushing to the timed cycles of the instrument, but I've managed to follow its lead now. Both my wife and I went through this process independent of one another during the same time span, but both of us have remarked how clean the surfaces of our teeth are as compared to even vigorous hand brushing. We both recommend replacing the heads, even though they are rather expensive, for the improved performance they provide. The instruments travel easily and so far the batteries have held their charges remarkably well.
Pros: efficiency.
Cons: expense.

I like my philips toothbrush because it fits in my mouth and cleans my teeth but is not too rough. I tried another brand previously but I didn't like it as well as my philips so I went back to philips toothbrush to brush my teeth. When I am done I can feel that my teeth are clean.
