better than store brands

I had gotten a store brand electric toothbrush after I lost my old sonicare while out of town, 2 months later I had a dental cleaning and the hygienist was so disappointed and grilled me about what I was doing different. I had not changed anything but the brand of my toothbrush. The new sonicare I got is amazing...can't wait to go back for my next cleaning.

The only problem is having to replace the brush head so often at such a high cost.

The brush heads are quite expensive and have to be replaced fairly often. I have 2 kids using their own toothbrushes and it's tough keeping up with all those brush heads.
Pros: does a good job cleaning teeth.
Cons: see above

My teeth feel cleaner when I use my sonicare brush. There is no comparison to a regular toothbrush and sonicare. The brush does everything for you. The main thing is to hold it properly.

Battery stopped taking charge after three months

After a full ten years trouble-free service by my original SoniCare, I was looking forward to upgrading to the latest version. Unfortunately, the new model I chose turned out to be of poor quality, as the battery did not last more than three months.
I would have returned it, but it was a gift and I don't want to embarrass the giver by asking for the receipt. Yes, this is the basic model, but I did expect a lot more. I still have not decided whether to try another (different) SoniCare model, or switch to a different brand.
Pros: sonic plaque removal like in professional systems
Cons: poor component quality (battery), this model has no timing signals while brushing, old toothpaste builds up between brush and handle
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The timed brushing action and the high-speed action give a consistent and brushing experience. The rechargeable battery is also a nice feature.

One of the nicest features of the Essence toothbrush is that it's flat on one side, preventing it from rolling on to the floor. It's easy to hold and operate.

A simple design that is quiet and efficiently cleans your teeth.
Pros: brush is strong enough to last several weeks.
Cons: brush head could be larger., gasket added to keep liquid from entering in head.

It needs two power buttons; on/off and then one for the gum massage setting.
I don't like pushing the button a few times to turn it off.
Pros: better design to hold in your hand
Cons: no solid carrying case
