This is the third or fourth one I have purchased. Every time I use it my teeth feel just like they did when I left the dentists office. Before having, this my dentist allways talked with me about my gums and that I needed to brush better. Not any more. The only drawback to this unit is that you can not change the batteries and when traveling the handle takes up more space that the more expensive models.
Pros: cleans teeth, massages gums
Cons: large size when traveling, cannot change batteries

I am very disappointed with this product . We had a sonicare years ago & also had problems ,but I really wanted to try it again so i purchased one for my husband. Within a couple weeks it started to have problems {wouldn't charge ,no longer did the "timer" pauses} things that should not be happening with a brand new product. The company did send a replacement with no hassles ,but it TOO does not work correctly !!!! I have not called about this one yet but i am Very disappointed over-all with this product. I also am surprised that the handle is not designed better to be held by a wet hand ,it seems that it would have some ergo-dynamic design,or grips etc. I have arthritis & find it awkward to hold. I really hate to be this critical because i had hoped that we would love it but sorry to say I am not happy at all . I keep thinking that we got a lemon but as its not the first one we have owned ,that's not very likely . keep working on it you are close !! Gina
Pros: when it works we love it, if its working it cleans my teeth great
Cons: it does not work all the time, doesnt go through the cycles as its supposed to, hard to hold no real hand grips

I have cut my dental cleanings in half since I started using this product.

One area that should be addressed is the interior of the brush head. When it gets wet, it gets slimy and filthy. Cleaning the inside is difficult. Also, the handle keeps draining on the charger.
I really do like the product but I worry about cleanliness.
Pros: excellent vibration for cleaning

But until a few months ago I had never dealt with customer service. May I say the customer service is as good as the product!
No waiting, no holding, no endless menus, the person that answered my call was the one that helped me through the whole process. She was knowledgeable, courteous and had my replacement charging base to me in a few days with a return box prepaid to ship the old one back.
After having to deal with cell phone, cable and other providers customer service it was very refreshing and renewed my confidence that someone can do it right!
I believe that customer service is as important as the product!

The Phillips Sonicare Essence toothbrush definitely cleans my teeth
better than a regular brush and I love the Timer because I'm sure I didn't brush two minutes before.

Its not just because every single Philips product I have is quality made, works just as expected, its also the way customer service treats you 24/7 if you have a problem or just have a question.
My whole family has Philips TV's , tooth brushes, shavers you name it and not one of us has ever had a problem that wasn't solved with a 5 minute call to Philips customer service.
Here is a company that gives value in what you buy, stands behind what they sell 24 hours a day and never takes the smile off of your face sending you away feeling greatful to have done business with them, knowing when the time comes you are going to buy Philips again and its just that simple.
I hope everyone at Philips reads this because I want to say Thank you from my entire family
