The Roku 3 has turned my older HDTV into a smart TV. Now I can easily watch Prime Videos on my TV instead of my laptop. I really love the numerous Channels that are available.

Great digital streaming solution

I really like Roku for its ease, power consumption, load speeds and quiet operation. I tend to use it more than my Xbox nowadays just because it is quiet. However, I do not see, even when hardwired on a 50 mbps connection, a significant bump above 720p. The menus are decidedly NOT 1080p, which i dislike. Also, the Aereo app is hidden (the whole reason I got the Roku3), which makes it quite a pain to get running. All in all, a great product.
Pros: Low power, Attractive Design, Simple Controls, Quiet, Fast Setup
Cons: Does Not Improve Audio/Video, Aereo Is Hidden, Does Not Seem Like 1080p, Apps Too Simplistic

Doesn't play nice with universal remotes

I like my roku 3 so far. It's very simple and works as advertised. I mainly use mine for plex and netflix and it does its job. The few things that bother me: -Doesn't work well with my Logitech Harmony 700. This is a known problem for just roku 3 boxes and hasn't been fixed yet. The input is very laggy and not just just for the harmony but also for a variety of universal remotes. -I have strong ethernet internet connection and sometimes the streams will still switch HD on/off -Motion control is trash. I didn't plan on gaming much with my roku, but this is definitely not a selling point.
Pros: Simple Controls, Fast Setup
Cons: Doesn't Work With Remotes

It is a big disappointment that a fine device like this is unable to provide You Tube as a choice. Seriously considered returning Roku for this reason only.
