This is perfect for streaming movies and TV shows if you don't own a smart TV. It's simple to setup and use, very user friendly. I would definitely buy this again. The only tip I would say is if you have a HD TV change the settings on your roku to 1080p. It makes your picture alot better.

Bought this for the company breakroom tv, wow what a difference! Employees have a blast playing the games and watch shows and videos during their lunch break. Glad I bought it

Consider all options before purchasing

I opted for the Roku 3 player instead of traditional programming with local cable or satellite company to avoid lengthy contracts that seem to get more expensive by the year. Indeed, the Roku player does what it says it will do. Streams channels to your player that you have to, individually, sign up for. They offer hundreds and hundreds of channels. Some you pay for, some are free. However, the programming offered for most of the popular tv shows are currently not offered. So, you're left with paying subscriptions to the "good" programming channels that offer more updated content, but still not what it should be considering the price you pay as a whole. $100 for the Roku 3, $8/month for this channel and that channel... well, it all adds up and still can't watch the tv shows I liked on traditional programming. Don't get me wrong. The Roku 3 is a very good streaming player, but until they start offering MUCH better programming options than they currently have, I am hard pressed to reccomend this to anyone.

Great way to catch up on TV series

This a great way to use some older TV models and make them more flexible. Connecting to the internet was a snapand accessing most major services was very easy. Have experienced only one system lock up in the first month and just powered down and back up to clear it.

I got rid of my $175 monthly cable bill and get have access to almost all of my shows that I used to have. I love the search feature to look up shows/movies by actors name. I recommend it to everyone.
