I use the Roku mostly to stream content from my Amazon Prime account and MLB package. The quality is excellent, with perfect HD pictures. Streaming is so smooth that you'd think it was a cable or satellite channel! Setup was a snap, about 10 minutes tops. The channel content is outstanding, still haven't discovered everything yet!
Pros: Simple Controls, Attractive Design, Fast Setup

Warning about Roku

This Roku box claims to play in HD but that's not I see on my TV. In all fairness to Roku, The problem may be things such as Slow internet speed, wi fi issues or something else. It would be nice if the users manual would mention this problem. Im not sure what or where the problem is but I am definitely NOT getting ANY HD viewing on my new ROKU 3.
Pros: Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Attractive Design
Cons: Bad Troubleshooting, Does Not Improve Audio/Video

Due to our home being built before the idea of having entertainment come to your TV through the internet, the Roku bridged the gap in wiring.
Pros: Simple Controls, Fast Setup

watch movies on hulu, netflix and several other channels. It is fast never had slow or interrupted video streaming. News channels are Ok. It is useful if you don't subscribe to satellite or cable. Not too many free channels. You Tube is not available and I don't get the reason for it. I have not explored all the features yet.

I was very surprised at how quick the setup was . I was streaming content in no time. From box to broadcast in under 10 minutes!

I had to turn off my cable because of the cost and when I heard about the Roku 3, I decided to pay the one time fee for it and see how I liked it. I'm still on the 30 day trial for one movie channel but am planning on paying the $7.99 a month to keep it! I also pay $5.99 for another move channel I got but it's still a lot cheaper than the $64.99 a month I was paying for cable!!!!! It's perfect for me!!!!!

Perfect for dumb TVs

I bought the Roku 3 in addition to the X2. Great addition, set up was easy, and the 3 is noticably faster. Wish I could control it with my Logitec Universal remote.
Pros: Attractive Design, Improved Audio/Video, Versitile, Fast Setup, Simple Controls
Cons: Lacks Universal Rc Access

We watch classic shows from our childhood: Start Trek, Mission Impossible, The Time Tunnel, and The Dick VanDyke Show, etc. More recent shows like the West Wing and lots of movies. PLUS we get to stay current with The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report. I only wish there were more shows on some channels (like BBC and Acorn), but I'm sure more will be added in time.
