WOW! Packs A Big Punch For A Small Unit

We love this small unit, we joined NETFLEX to catch up on watching all seasons of Breaking Bad. One important note the unit gets a little hot so we UNPLUG it after we are dine for the night. Just set the unit to the HOME screen and unplug the Power Cord from the unit. We had NO issues when plugging the unit back in the next day. This is a great unit and we are going to drop our CableVision to Basic Cable no need to keep spending money when you can get NETFLEX, Amazon Prime, Crakle ect; ect;

The control with the headphone buds is great !!!! All tvs should come with something like that . Learn sony, samsung, lg etc from rokus

A mini SD card can be used to increase its memory but the manual does not clearly suggest how added memory would help, how much would be enough and what chip speed. I added 8 gigs of class 10. It formatted it for use during setup. Why does it have a supplemental memory slot? What does added memory do? Otherwise, the ROKU 3 was easy to install, its USB slot works fine, and the earphone jack on the remote is a really nice feature.
Pros: Simple Controls, Fast Setup
Cons: Manual Is Terse

Love my Roku 3

I bought the Roku 3 because I wanted wired ethernet vice WiFi. It performs great! We already had Amazon Prime (for shipping), so we get all kinds of great movies and television. One thing I didn't expect was to find really cool free channels. My favorite free one is TED Talks which has been awesome! The business talks have really been great. I highly recommend a Roku.

Roku 3 is OK but not Great!

I really wanted to replace cable TV with my Roku but I don't see that happening right away. The major tv networks don't stream to the Roku. I was anticipating anything I watch free online I could watch on Roku and that is not so. The reverse is also true, there are lots of shows streamed to the Roku that are not on tv. There is no closed captioning! I don't like that at all. Watching Roku is totally different from TV. There is no tv guide. You pretty much have to know what you want to watch and then go find it. If you are a surfer, you'll never stop and watch because there is just too much. It's an easy learning curve and watching tv is different now. I don't regret buying the Roku. I just wish I knew some of these things upfront. I probably would have bought a less expensive version. I think over time with the demand of consumers that some of these issues will be resolved. I do see my cable bill going down, just not going away.

Because our provider is Comcast we can't get HBO GO altho we can on Apple TV. They need to authorize this.
