Amazing, Almost perfect, needs YouTube

As stated before this device is lacking due to the lack of YouTube and HBOGO for DirecTV subscribers. These are huge misses for an almost perfect product. How it can be without these 2 major channels is beyond my comprehension. Fix these issues and it becomes a 5 star perfect product.
Pros: Attractive Design, Improved Audio/Video, Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Media With Plex
Cons: No HboGo for Directv, No youtube

set up didn't work as smooth as it should have, but two call to support got it working right. It's a good addition to the T V experience, but not a replacement for my satellite.
Pros: Attractive Design, Simple Controls
Cons: Difficult setup

First rate viewing experience

I got Roku when my not-that-old DVD player failed to provide internet streaming to my HDTV in a usable fashion. It would just hang and hang -- often we couldn't watch for more than 15 seconds without it hanging again. I knew we had great bandwidth into the house by cable, so I thought maybe the fault lay with my DVD player. I'd never heard of Roku, but an internet search quickly convinced me that this little device is a user favorite. And now it's a favorite of mine, too! We've watched tens of hours of TV/movies at this point and it has hung only a few times, but it picks right back up very shortly and doesn't crash or lose it's place (other problems we had before). Setup was straightforward and the user interface is simple. Also, Roku interfaces with a number of different video services, so there is a nice variety of viewing options.
Pros: Improved Audio/Video, Simple Controls, Great Bandwidth, Attractive Design, Fast Setup

OK, not great

I got this in aneffort to cut cable. Unfortunately all of the services to get local programming have costs that border on losing the savings of cable cutting. I have had a number of difficulties with my Roku3 locking up. It also seems to lose the connection to my home WiFi every time it goes to sleep. Sometimes re-finding the WiFi can be difficult. The Blu-ray player under the Roku has never had this issue. On the plus side, I do love having the ability to stream movies and music from my home media server. I also love streaming pictures from my smartphone to the TV to share with family and friends.
Pros: Attractive Design
Cons: No youtube, Loses Network Connectivit

If you like to have entertainment choices this is for you. You select what you view and the source you receive it from. We've added it as another selectable viewing option to our TV in addition to Satellite.
