Not Perfect

For watching movies it loads much quicker than the DVD player that I previously used to stream Netflix. However the sound, though it often says 5.1, isn't really. DVD's give true separation, this device is more like a "pretend" 5.1, in that the center speaker isn't anything more than a blend of all speakers. About twice a month it freezes up, which requires me to unplug the device to regain control.
Pros: Simple Controls
Cons: Does Not Improve Audio/Video

I like this unit and would buy it again...however, The network connection is not as stable as the older model. I have a ROKU I bought about 2 years ago that was setup in the exact same location and it held the connection much better than this new one. It's not a deal breaker though.
Pros: Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Attractive Design, Improved Audio/Video
Cons: No youtube channel

I use it as my second TV. It's making me realize how close I am to cutting the cable cord. From CNBC during the day to Movies at night, it's rare not to find a source for what I want to watch. Subscription free Live Sports would be the only thing I would need to have to complete the move. The selection of channels beats the controlled environment of my Apple TV. Time to wake up Apple!

I have this setup in my bedroom. The wife and like to watch our TV show via the Plex App. This is perfect for our needs. If Plex (or something like it) wasn't available to connect to my home server, I would never even bother with Roku. But it is, and it is great.
Pros: Easy, Fast Setup
Cons: No volume control

After viewing awhile this thing gets glitchy and stops working properly. Yoy have to unplug it to fix it, this shouldn't be the case.

Great interface, smart device

Since upgrading from my Roku 2 XD, I have found that the signal strength has greatly diminished. Loading shows over WIFI takes a lot longer and are usually interrupted mid-play. Could my new Roku 3 be defective??

We were forced to buy the top of the line Roku to replace our old Roku HD, because our network is hard-wired and we like it that way. The Roku 3 is now the only model that has that capability. But now that we have it, we really like it. It really takes advantage of our bandwidth--movies load instantly--and we now hardly ever have mid-movie hangups, which were common with our old machine.

Ridiculous to have to punch in every letter and number and symbol to become netflix member. Joined for House of Cards...it was worth it. haven't seen anything else yet.
