Too Overrated! Not so good!

Apps wont work right after a show/movie is watched. Control buttons wont work right after watching something. Only supports like 4 video formats and I have 2TB on movies and series in like 6-7 formats.
Pros: Lots Of Channel, Improved Audio/Video, Fast Setup
Cons: Control Stops Working, Too Few Video Formats, Wont Do Auto Next, Too Slow Menu, Apps Wont Work After Play
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Where's the power switch??

I have an automatic HDMI switch which detects active devices and I can't easily turn off the power for auto selection, so I have to manually select the HDMI input to my TV. Otherwise it is a superior product for Netflix because I can switch on subtitles which I cannot do with my DVR implementation of Netflix.
Pros: Attractive Design, Fast Setup, Simple Controls

Roku 3 really big change. Great game controller and with ear phones I can watch without disturbing my wife with late TV watching and my grandkids do not accidentally hear something I think not appropriate for 10 year old ears,

Upgraded from the XD and very pleased. Well worth the price. MUCH faster loading of shows with almost none of the interruptions and refreshes from before. I also upgraded my internet to cable(which also came with a faster router), which probably helped as well. Also comes with comfortable rubber earbuds (not those awful plastic ones) that plug into the remote, a plus for hard of hearing night owls like me, which helps me hear dialogue much better.. However, it automatically mutes the TV/soundsystem, a very minor inconvenience. I would like to have the option and use the earbuds to enhance dialogue while still keeping some of the background sound effects. Otherwise, very pleased.

This is our first Roku, and it is great! The only thing that would make this better would be if we could get a Youtube channel. We have this setup in our family room and it gets quite a bit of use. This has replaced an Xbox 360 (very seldom used for games) with its $50 per year Xbox Live Gold membership that we didn't want to renew. We also bought this instead of an AppleTV. Even though we have many iDevices in our home, we decided on the Roku instead of the AppleTV for one reason: Amazon Instant Streaming. The interface is slick. The remote and unit feel very sturdy. Setup was mostly easy although the lack of a physical keyboard was a pain when entering account information. All around I am very pleased with the Roku 3.

Cons: Lacks Youtube Support

I purchased the Roku 3 immediately once it became available. I'd been using a refurb. Roku 2 XD for about a little under a year at the time, and my main reason for the upgrade was to use TWCTV. The TWCTV app really showcases the Roku's potential even at this early stage. In addition to this app, I also use my Roku for Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Pandora, and one of the best apps I've ever seen: PLEX. If you have multimedia stored on your network and a capable PC (see plexapp.com for more) you really should check this out. Also, I really love the RF remote and its headphone-port (and included phones!)- very useful at night. The only downside to this newest Roku is a lack of output ports, but given the unit's size, it's understandable. I'd like to see an optional accessory for the next Roku which would provide RGB/HDMI/analog A/V, etc. Since my audio system only has SPDIF and Optical-In, I had to find an HDMI pass-thru adapter to put video on my HDTV and pass the audio via Optical-Out to the system. The Roku itself seems to require a reboot about every 10 days or so to clear up sluggishness that develops over that time; fortunately this takes about 2m to complete so no biggie. Thanks for a great product!!

Carefully researched Apple TV and Roku 3.... Decided to go with Roku 3 because remote offers a headphone option that plugs into remote and mutes The TV.Great when you have a spouse who goes to bed earlier than you.
Pros: Fairly Intuitive, Easy to use and setup
Cons: Remote needs redesign
