The Roku 3 was everything it claims to be. Set-up was easy and content via Roku Store was plentiful. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a clean and easy way to get Netflix, Amazon, or HBO Go on to their TV. I had a couple of major issues with the Roku 3 which ultimately lead to it's return. This device is dependent on content and it fails in two areas mainly to deal with app implementation rather than the hardware. First, streaming media to the device requires lots of work - everyone will point you to Plex but I found it to be a tedious and clumsy implementation. Second, Hulu Plus is not the cable-cutting Godsend it is purported to be - many popular shows are tagged as "web only" which means they will not play back on the Roku 3. My final complaint was the controls - they were too simple for me and not intuitive to anyone visiting - the babysitter and several family members gave-up and turned the Roku 3 off in favor of other devices. Overall, this device didn't meet my needs but may work out great for others with a different set of needs.

Streaming movies. The movies don't cover the entire TV screen. Had to call about a message on screen that prohitited me from viewing movies. Hopefully it will get better.

Cut the Cord NOW!

The Roku solution is the perfect way to making your older HDTV become a smart TV. We cut the cord completely in our house. We rely on OTA (off the air) TV reception especially live sporting events, local news and Roku for everything else.
Pros: Fast Setup, Improved Audio/Video, Zero Learning Curve, Attractive Design, Simple Controls
Cons: No Browser Capability

My wife and I watch Netflix far more than we watch cable TV! Of course, I wish ALL movie DVDs were available to stream down, but I can't complain. My only issue is that I do use the headphones with the remote. And I think the headphones must eat the batteries, because I seem to have to change batteries frequently.

Headphone jack in remote rocks; errors

It is a nice unit especially with the headphone jack built into the remote. Very easy to use. There are quite a bit of errors though that require constant unplug/replug of power to resolve. Overall, I would recommend waiting for the next version if you already have one, or getting one of the previous devices. I kind of feel like I was taken when I upgraded from my version 2 to this one...
