Great little box!!!!!!

Replaced my satellite provider with this box. Great choice if you are sick of cable and satellite charges for shopping networks and boring films. When I first connected, I had DSL 1mbs and NetFLix and Hulu ran fine (which really surprised me). Upgraded to 12mbs and of course everything improved. Waiting for football to get rolling to see if I can get live games that I want to see off it, but if not I can still get streaming off my computer.
Pros: Simple Controls, Attractive Design, Fast Setup

My Roku 3 was easy to set up, and I'm got a techie. There are many free channels, and choosing channels to purchase was a snap. Payment couldn't be easier. I am cancelling cable and saving a small fortune. Don't hesitate to purchase your own ROKU 3!!

My Roku "travels" from TV to TV. We love all the content now available on our little black box. And....it is so simple to set up and use. Would highly recommend this to anyone.

Great concept but too many interruptions

I love the concept, but don't like getting interrupted all the time for downloads and more often than not end up failing. Frustrating. Also, it often needs the wireless network connection refreshed. Laptop and other devices don't

This Roku device is excellent. You just plug and play. The design of the box and the hardware is very simple and easy to use. The price of the Roku3 is excellent too for what you get! The headphone jack in the controller just blew my mind and it is a great little treasure which made the purchase that much sweeter.

Too Many Glitches

I liked the idea of the roku. The channels are great, even though it can use a lot more. Some of the free movies have commercials, which is something I was not expecting. My biggest concerns however, are the many glitches it has. I have had to reboot, unplug, change batteries etc. over 5 times in 2 weeks of use. It freezes, stops working, the remote went out and i had to change the batteries...all within 2 weeks? There has to be some serious overhauling of this product to justify the cost.
Pros: Attractive Design, Simple Controls, Ear Buds, Great Remote, Fast Setup, Great channels
Cons: Crashes, Too Many Glitches, Needs more channels, Freezes

This is the second Roku I've tried to add to my system, and the second one that I've decided against. If you don't have a PS3 or Xbox 360 with a Live Gold account, or an Apple TV, this is a great add-on to any system. However, compared to the PS3 NetFlix app, I find the box good but not great. It has a great many choices, but I'm really only interested in 3 of them and they are all available on PS3 (NetFlix, Amazon, Crackle). But what really turned me against it was that I kept getting a HDCP error when trying to watch movies. I could switch resolution or turn the device on and off, but ultimately I was disappointed with this issue. I did some searches and found I wasn't alone. In summary, I think it is a great box, but that it didn't add significantly to the capability that I already had on the PS3. If I didn't have it, I would have tried harder to deal with the error I was getting. I do think it is a better way to stream video than the built in apps on my Blu-ray player or Television.

Better then expected!

I've had to replace the remote 2x. First time was less then 30 days of purchase, and it just stopped working, so retailer replaced it. The 2nd time, it was dropped, the batteries came out and when replaced, it didn't work. The remote is great for viewing, but is not as sturdy as a Wii. Still, this system is WAY BETTER THAN CABLE! So many viewing options even the kids don't miss cable. Next generation needs to offer captioning.
