I've had this for about one month.  I love it!!  It's like having my own DVR of all the shows I like to watch and all the cartoons my kids love to watch, all at the touch of a button.  The best part is I feel like I'm am watching quality shows without so much advertising AND I'm finally free from the $220 cable bill every month.  LOVE IT!!!

I purchased the Roku 3 about a month ago after getting slammed again by Time Warner with ever higher cable bill (over 200 bucks a month). I'm completely happy with the Roku 3. It was easy to set up and use. So far I've only signed up for Hulu Plus. There's more content there than I can ever watch. Sure I miss a couple of my favorite series that aren't available on Hulu but I'm saving over a $ 100.00 a month. I'm glad I "cut the cable" and made the switch to Roku.

I used to pay $105 for cable. With Roku, I disconnected the cable and enabled content with media streaming. This is much better than Apple or Google TV.

Seniors Need This Little Black Box

I am a senior living on a fixed income. A few months ago I bought my first Roku. I was delighted to see I could get most of my old shows without the hassel of commercial interruptions by paying a very reasonable fee for a couple of subscription channels. I was considering dumping cable and its huge bill after I saw what I could do. Now I have a private channel called Aereo that gives me DVR service for my local over air channels. So now I have the best of all worlds. The cable people try to keep us "hostage" by limiting our sports, but for over $125.00 in savings every month, I can learn to live with less sports. I still get a lot of sports on the local channels + the convenience of DVR (can fast forward through the commercials). I think that one day the cable people will be out of business once enough people learn about the many alternatives like Roku.

I bought my Roku two weeks ago and loving it so far, however, when streaming programs from PBS, I experienced error messages popping up constantly, I had to restart the shows over and over again, may be caused by PBS?

Great Cable Killer

I bought a Roku with the intention of completely removing cable services. I'm *almost* there. The Roku streams HD content without delay and all of the interface is intuitive and easy to navigate.
The Roku provides a great selection of channels (netflix etc). The most important one is Plex. This allows you to stream from a local backup drive or computer, and is really easy to setup.
The only remaining issue with Roku is that they do not have a youtube application. I am unsure why.
Besides that, if we could get more live sports somehow then I would have no more need for that expensive cable box.

Does what it's supposed to do

We've had this about a month and it does what it says it will do very well. Unfortunately I didn't understand the kind of programming the various channels provide. For the most part the free channels provide ancient movies and programs. The content displays for pay channels are limited before signing up and suggest I would not find much that I would like - although friends tell me they find a lot they like.
In any event, my problems are not with the Roku - which does it's job very well, but with the content providers .
