My take on the Roku 3

The product is great and performance has been awesome. Streaming video and audio is near flawless. I have been using it for about 6 months now. The only problem I have had is that I need to click the remote about 2 or 3 times before the app responds. I don't think it's a battery issue, so perhaps something could be done to fix that.
Pros: Attractive Design, Fast Setup, Simple Controls, Improved Audio/Video
Cons: Remote Not Perfect

Love the choices I have for channels. I have several channels and I use them all. I catch up on TV programs I've missed in the past, and I can watch movies that are popular and even rent current releases. I definitely recommend it to people who question "What is Roku?"

Even though the HDMI port is great, it would be nice to be able to hook it up to surround sound. This is available in the earlier model, but in that model you lose the ethernet port.

Great piece of equipment

Purchased the Roku 3 to use in the basement exercise area. Loved that I could set it up wirelessly and avoid stringing a 50 foot cable from the main floor computer to downstairs. The Roku has great versatility and lots of programs/movie channels available. Only wish I could get live local news and You Tube videos.

We use this quite a bit for Netflix and Hulu. However just like those apps you have to pay for most of the other apps that are available on the Roku. If you have a smart TV, Wii, Xbox or playstation you can get all the same big name apps. The Roku is great for what it does which is a place to watch Netflix, Hulu or other apps but its not something that can connect to the Internet and stream free tv...not really saving a lot of money over dish or direct tv because you have to subscribe to all the different apps to get what you want.

Cons: Must Pay For All Apps, Can Do Same With Wii Or X
