could not make it work

could not make it work after reviewing many internet comments from others I went through the routine of direct connection to get it started,,, then back to wireless and updated as required... all I got was " not available now, please try later" even though it registered as excellent signal. tried to factory reset but it stops at " language " will be returning to store

The Roku Is inexpensive, super easy to set up and a ton of value for the money. We even took it on vacation with us and were spared our usual pain of watching commercial TV. Highly recommended.

Cut the cable!

We are using ROKU to cut the cable and get rid of our DirectTV subscription. It's working great so far. We already had an internet TV but I still opt for going straight to the ROKU. For those looking to cut their cable and might be hesitant, just think of three things. 1) Get Roku. 2) Get an HD antenna for all of the local channels. 3) Hook up a computer to your TV and you can use it as a DVR! TOTALLY worth it and saving us about 85$ a month.

Makes your ordinary TV and Smart TV; Serious flaws

I bought this as a gift for my parents as they just purchased two new Samsung Galaxy S4s and I thought it would be a perfect complement for their trigger happy (in the context of photography) hands. I initially tested the system with my Samsung Galaxy S3 which allowed me to stream photos and only some videos. However, all of the videos that did display had serious color issues (mismatched and shifted all over). I was also surprised to see that the videos took just as long to load as they actually played (10 second video took about 10 seconds to load, etc.)... It also didn't allow me to stream certain videos from my library even though they were shot with the same settings and are about the same length as the ones that did display. Then I moved to test my parent’s two phones and found that nothing would happen when selecting a picture to stream. The screen would go purple as if it were about to show a picture and then it would revert back to the system screen.
Three phones (2 brand new) and none of them worked. I was really excited to try the product as I was considering one for myself and one for my sister but after this failure, I’ll be looking at returning the system. I can’t recommend the Roku.

Good buy!

I have had the Roku3 for about a month. It streams Netflix and Amazon very well. The Roku rarely pauses for "buffering" and the picture is delivered in 1080p which makes a big difference. My wife likes the earphone option when I am watching a late night action movie. Roku's other "channels" allow me to catch up to TV series like Falling Skies and Last Resort that I missed when they first aired.

I have had my ROKUs for a year now. I have one down stairs in the living room and one in my bedroom. I was tired of Time Warner cable constantly cutting channels and at the same time raising their cost! So I cancelled the cable, installed antennas in each room with a TV ( inside kind) and bought the ROKU! I love ROKU!! I can watch TV,movies, play games, listen to Pandora and most of it is free or very inexpensive.. I had Amazon Prime for a year but cancelled it as I felt their movie/programs selection wasn't as good M-go and their fees were higher.. I have had a couple of problems but the ROKU support was very good and fixed things promptly. The cost of two ROKUs and 3 inside antennas was less than what I paid in one year for lousy cable service. Installation was easy .Highly recommend

I was complaining about the expensive cable bills we pay and the fact there is "never anything on". A co-worker said she bought one of these and loved it. After reviewing online to get more of an understanding, I too bought one. At first, it appears you have to pay for the movie channels but that's not the case. Only the pay ones seem to be the only channels already loaded. You have to research a little and then you will see there are several channels you can add that are absolutely free. This is a great investment and I'm confident I will be canceling my cable soon. Roku is definitely worth the money!!

Absolutely Incredible – Great value, highly recommended to others. As for improvements I would like - Add MSNBC streaming (currently available on Internet) and provide option for sound to play on both the earphone and through the regular sound system.
